The iPhone 12 takes a modern take on the classic iPhone design. It has smaller bezels than the iPhone 11 and is 11% thinner, 15% smaller, and 16% lighter than its predecessor. It moves ahead of the rounded edges of iPhones to sharper edges and a flatter frame.  Apple has incorporated a special glass with higher durability, the super hard nano-ceramic crystals used on the glass screen in the iPhone 12. This ceramic shield composition yields four times better drop protection.

The scratch resistance has been improved for both the front and rear of the iPhone 12. It is rated IP68 for water-resistance, which means it can stay submerged in water for up to 30 minutes.

The iPhone 12 has an aluminium design and is available in five colours—white, black, green, blue, and red (product). You can choose from storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The Apple iPhone 12 price in India is Rs.79900. It is a small phone with a length of 5.78 inches and weighs 164 gms. It has a width of 2.82 inches and a depth of 0.29 inches.

With iPhone 12, Apple has moved on from the Liquid Retina HD display to the desirable Super Retina XDR display that was only available to the Pro versions of earlier iPhones. The new Apple iPhone 12 screen has an OLED display instead of an LCD. Its diagonal length is 6.1 inches.

Increased contrast ratio and true black colour are only possible with an OLED display. The OLED also provides a more vibrant display with colours popping up.

The OLED display allows a thinner device with thinner bezels. This makes the iPhone 12 screen look like an all-display screen, with a higher resolution than the iPhone 11. Increased pixel density makes the display clearer and images sharper.

The phone supports Haptic Touch instead of 3D touch, which means the screen provides a small vibration signal in response to touch. The display also has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.

Smart HDR 3 allows for natural-looking skin tones, highlight, and shadow roll-off. It makes higher dynamic-range in photos possible, which means you can take pictures of highly contrasting shades, such as bright and shadow. There is also an option for auto-detection of the scene, which manages the white balance and colour scheme of a picture using machine learning.

The Night mode is available on all three cameras, and the wide-angle camera is the best for taking very low-light pictures. It is automatically enabled when shooting in dark areas.

5G offers a more extensive range of frequencies, high bandwidth, and lower latency. It provides high-speed internet with increased network capacity and availability. The iPhone 12 has been optimised to support 5G connectivity.

Its hardware includes custom antennas and high sensitivity components for higher 5G efficiency. The system and software of the iPhone have been optimised for better usage of the 5G network.
