The Realme 8s 5G comes with a beast of a processor under its hood. Powered by the Dimensity 810 chipset, the Realme 8s 5G can run anything and everything with ease. The MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor has eight cores that enable a clock speed of 2.4 GHz. That clock speed is one of the fastest you can find at this price range. From switching lots of chrome tabs, shifting between various applications, split screening for prolonged hours, everything is handled smoothly by the octa-core beast of a processor. Paired with 6 GB RAM to 8 GB RAM, the Dimensity 810 can run even the most graphically demanding of AAA games with ease. Even for prolonged times, the inbuilt virtual RAM allotment technology allows the Realme 8s 5G can run smoothly. Graphics duty is handled by the Mali G57 MC2 GPU which is capable enough to leverage the complete power of the octa-core processor that Realme provides. The Realme 8s 5G also comes with 5G capabilities but as of now, its performance can only be judged in the future.

While its predecessors come with the Super AMOLED panels, the Realme 8s 5G has been downgraded a bit with IPS LCD panels for display. The IPS LCD comes with a 90 Hz display that is an improvement from previous models but has come at the expense of AMOLED displays. The screen boasts an FHD+ display but does not have an HDR 10+ rating like a few competitors in the market. The punch hole display has thin bezels at the side that provide a large viewing area for users.  The screen does come with Widevine L1 support for HD content on OTT platforms in an attempt to fill in the absence of HDR 10+ display. The screen display has ample brightness and can be used even outdoors with ease. The colour pallet is optimised for users that prefer easy on the eye colour tones. Touch latency is a bit average given that the LCD display cannot fully leverage the 90 Hz refresh rate causing occasional ghosting after touches and clicks.

The Realme 8s 5G comes with a huge battery of 5000 mAh and has a few tricks that keep its power usage moderate and allows it to last a long time. The Realme 8s 5G has the Dimensity 810 processor that has a very small architecture which translates to reduces battery usage and longer battery life. The LCD screen also helps in keeping the power usage in check as it consumes less power than the AMOLED display. The Realme 8s 5G can easily run through the entire day with casual usage. Add to it a few hours of gaming and the power levels might drop to battery saver mode but no worries, realme expected that. The Realme 8s 5G comes with a 33W charger that can take the phone from 0 to 100 in under 90 minutes. That is fast. So no matter what the time of the day is, the Realme 8s 5G will always be by your side.

The Realme 8s 5G comes with the standard triple AI camera setup. The camera setup is identical to its predecessors and not much improvement is done. The main snapper is a 64 MP lens that does a very good job of capturing details and colours during various weather conditions. The most notable difference is in the low light capabilities of Realme 8s 5G are astonishing. The Image Signal Processor (ISP) of the Realme 8s 5G is small compared to its competitors but captures a lot of light even in low light conditions to provide better details. Even shadows and highlights are captured with exquisite details without over-sharpening the image details. In normal conditions, the ISP is a bit overwhelming in its reproduction of colours giving out slightly oversaturated and high contrast images. The 64 MP snapper is paired with an average 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor. Both these sensors are underwhelming and their work can easily be done by the main snapper. The front snapper is a 16 MP standard issue lens nestled in the punch-hole display at the front and does a decent job while clicking selfies and portrait clicks. The only shocking news is the exclusion of an ultra-wide sensor which at this price range is quite a daring move.

The Realme 8s 5G comes with a polycarbonate build and offers a matte-like finish at the back. The matte finish ensures that smudges and fingerprint marks are not easily left on the phone. The Realme 8s 5G is slightly on the heavier side and weighs in at 191 g. But the mass distribution is very even and giving a well-balanced feel in the hand with sleek looking curves complimenting it. There is a triple camera setup nestled in a rectangular housing with an empty circular design that has no practical usage. There is a power button cum fingerprint sensor on the right, along with bottom-firing speakers and a USB C type jack at the bottom.
