Samsung Galaxy F62

The Samsung Galaxy F62 is powered by the Exynos 9825 chipset, a flagship level chipset, previously in the Galaxy Note 10 (2019). It uses the OneUI 3.1 software, based on Android 11. The 7nm chipset utilizes two custom cores along with two Cortex A75 cores for performance and four efficiency Cortex A75 cores. There is no lag while switching apps and running multiple heavy apps, thanks to the ample RAM it provides. Providing efficient graphics handling, Mali-G76 GPU is capable enough to run heavy gaming smoothly. F62 can run games at the highest Graphics Quality Setting and Max frame rate.

The Galaxy F62 expands over 6.7 inches of screen, diagonally, with a Super AMOLED display panel and GHD+ resolution. The front selfie shooter sits at the top centre of the display, in a punch hole cavity. The display is bordered by thin and slim bezels, increasing the viewing space. It supports 16 million colours and has a 1000000:1 contrast ratio. The WideVine L1 certification, lets you a premium experience, while viewing OTT content. The brightness of the panel is claimed to be 480 nits, which isn't too great, but feels comfortable even under strong light. Moreover, it has the usual set of display customization options, like changing colour vibrancy, dark mode, blue light filter and many more.

The Samsung Galaxy F62 happens to beat all other mid range smart phones, in this respect. It offers a mammoth 7000 mAH battery, an absolute gem of a feature. With normal to heavy use, the device lasts, as long as two days consistently, on one single full charge. The big battery supports a maximum 25 Watts fast charging, which roughly pumps a cent percent charge in about 3 hours. Samsung provides a 25 W fast charger, within the box, which concludes the battery performance. The charging slot is a regular Type C port, common in almost all recent smart phones.

The hardy device, features a quad camera on the rear, though only three of them have designated usage. But the fourth one, escalates the novelty factor, according to the notion, more is better. The Wide Angle Primary 64 mega pixel camera supports upto 10X digital zoom. Next is the 12 mega pixel Ultra Wide Angle camera followed by two 5 mega pixel- Depth and Macro cameras. The unison of all these, certainly pays what we call a “sustainable service”. The 64 mega pixel primary camera, delivers fairly good results, when shot in binned mode. Colours are clear and saturated. The dynamic range is appreciable and also the image quality is quite sharp. The AF works amazing in photo mode, while the same in video mode is somewhat frenzy. Under low lighting, the primary camera performance is quite decent, however only when shot in the Night Mode. The 32 mega pixel Wide Angle lens of the selfie camera, provides a smooth user experience with good detailing and contrast. Both the front and rear cameras support up to 4K resolution @ 30fps for video recording.

The Samsung Galaxy F62 is quite a thick and heavy slab of a device, the sole reason to it being the massive battery. The back of the device is glasstic, but not scratch proof. Also, Samsung no longer packs a phone case in the box and so you need to spend separately to get your phone a cover. The right side of the phone, houses the volume rocker, and the fingerprint scanner, that doubles up as the power button. The SIM tray rests on the left side, where you get 2 distinct SIM slots and a dedicated micro SD card slot. The colour varieties are truly refreshing, but not universal.
