As far as the display is concerned, the S1 Pro has a refreshingly new design that conforms to the trend. The Vivo S1 Pro features a 6.38-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display at 1080x2340 pixels resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, which never fails to give a cinematic experience. The colour contrast and harmonisation are excellent, with ample brightness under direct sunlight too. The model also comes with Dark mode, which makes the user interface easier even during night usage.

Vivo has removed the physical fingerprint reader on the back as the S1 Pro utilises an in-display fingerprint sensor and Face unlock, both fast, accurate, and reliable. The icon’s refreshed design and trendy unlock animations add to the unique user experience.
One major complaint I have with the display is that we do not get Gorilla glass with this device, so the user has to preserve the screen protector pre-applied.
Summary
Vivo S1 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. The Snapdragon 665 processor is more common in phones around Rs.10,000 mark. Vivo could have upgraded it while using it on the phone, which costs around Rs. 20,000.

The Snapdragon 665 processor is more common in phones around Rs.10,000 mark. Vivo could have upgraded it while using it on the phone, which costs around Rs. 20,000.
As a matter of fact, Realme 5i and Redmi 8, priced around Rs. 12,000, come with the same chipset. While the processor is not bad by any means, the normal browsing experience and switching between heavy apps were swift too, but the device’s general performance was a bit laggy.
Playing heavy games like PUBG Mobile or Call of Duty on the full HD+ Display is challenging. However, Temple Run and Angry Birds run fine. SI Pro runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 9.2, which is based on Android 9 pie.
The interface is unnecessarily complicated, and also the options in the settings menu are hard to navigate. Here is my qualm with S1 Pro. It comes with a lot of bloatware preinstalled, such as the I Music app, Vivo app store, Game centre, and a whole lot of apps that may not be useful but cannot be uninstalled. This makes the entire browsing experience cluttered.
Summary
Vivo S1 Pro dumped the monotonous straight line, square, and circle camera panel and has launched a unique diamond-shaped camera panel. The user gets a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor, all packed in the diamond-shaped cluster. The phone also comes with a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture but lacks a dedicated night mode for low-light photography.
Daylight selfies were crisp with decent detailing, but the depth was not up to the mark. Background separation under the portrait mode is good, and the phone also has AI-scene detection, which detects the subject and tweaks colours to make them look more vibrant.
Front cameras captured good close-up selfies, and the wide-angle camera offered okayish photos, but the colours were not very accurate.
Summary
The Vivo S1 Pro comes with a 4500mAh battery, which lasted us for a day and a half with normal usage, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, playing games, taking photos, and more throughout the day. The 18W Dual-Engine fast charging technology can charge the device from 0-100 per cent in about 90 minutes via the Type-C port.
Summary
Style like a pro
With its diamond-shaped camera panel and unique colours, the phone design gives a premium look even though it is pocket-friendly.
Easy to use with one hand
The model weighs 186 grams only and hence is easy to use with one hand, and despite the glossy finish, it’s not too slippery. A Fingerprint sensor lets you easily unlock the device.
Take photos like a pro
The quad-camera setup gives you different perspectives to take the same shot. The S1 Pro main camera provides 48MP clarity, while the other three deliver wide-angle, macro and bokeh angle.
