Powered by Apple’s latest A15 Bionic chip, which you see on all the 2021 Apple products, the Apple iPhone 13 mini can almost do anything without breaking a sweat. Apple’s proprietary bionic chips are designed to work with neural networks to learn your actions and patterns in daily usage. Apple claims the A15 is the fastest smartphone chip in existence which also has a 16 core neural engine inside it.

The hexacore A15 bionic chip has the highest clock speed of 3.22 Ghz and that means it can take a lot of apps making huge demands on it. Built on a 5nm architecture the A15 chip also consumes comparatively less power for the computation power it offers. The 5 nm architecture of the A15 allows the Apple iPhone 13 mini to blaze through a ton of tasks without having to overwork itself.

The A15 bionic chip is paired with 4 GB of RAM across all variants and perhaps that is the only mini thing about the Apple iPhone 13 mini. Along with the six core A15 bionic chip, the Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with a quad core Apple designed GPU that offers a respectable amount of speed.

The Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with a top of the notch display. Similar to the its upscaled version the Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with a Super Retina XDR display that makes it a bliss to watch videos and movies on the screen. The 5.4 inch OLED display comes has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels which puts the pixel density of the screen at the highest on a smartphone, 476 pixels per inch. The rounded display matches seamlessly with the curved design of the iPhone and supports HDR display. The screen has a maximum brightness of 800 nits that can shoot up to 1200 nits making it perfect for use under any lighting condition. The Apple iPhone 13 mini screen also comes with True Tone technology and wide colour gamut (P3). The haptic touch on the screen is also a bliss to use. The only let down is that the Apple iPhone 13 mini does not come with a 120 Hz display but rather has the classic 60 Hz refresh rate.

The buzz in the market is that all the iPhone 13 models have a huge battery leap. The same is the case with the Apple iPhone 13 mini. The Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with a battery cell that has a larger size compared to its predecessors. The increased efficiency is due to the Apple A15 bionic chip’s 5 nm architecture and also the obvious increased battery size. The camera on the Apple iPhone 13 mini is the same as the Apple iPhone 13. Apple has avoided playing the higher megapixels game and has instead decided to increase the aperture of its pixels and camera lens. The Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with a dual camera setup, a 12 MP wide camera lens with an aperture of f/1.6 and a 12 MP ultra wide camera setup lens with an aperture of f/2.4 boasting a 120 degrees view. The dual camera setup is also equipped with Sensor Shift Optical Image Stabilization that was previously found only on the Pro Max series by Apple. The OIS technology is a cherry on the cake added to the already powerful dual cameras. The lenses take in more light and enables a premium look on the photos no matter what the lighting.

The Apple iPhone 13 mini is slightly heavier than its predecessors and has a few subtle changes to it too. Flat sides, 5G connection and MagSafe charging are all inherited from the previous model with a few minor changes only. There is a small change in the notch on the top that has been reduced by 20 % than the previous model which is nice to see. The body is a bit heavier and thicker than the previous versions with the trademark Apple bezels around the screen. The edges are stainless steel with a glossy finish while the back is a smooth matte finish. The front uses the typical Apple’s Ceramic Shield to prevent camera cracks. The Apple iPhone 13 mini also has best in class IP68 water resistance rating.
