The Vivo Y20T boasts of a super-fast SoC under its screen, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662. The Snapdragon 662 SoC is designed to handle the Vivo Y20T through thick and thin. The octa-core Snapdragon 662 on the Vivo Y20T is paired up with a huge amount of RAM to just put the performance of the Vivo Y20T into overdrive. The 6 GB RAM you get with the super-fast Soc can negotiate even AAA games with ease. With the 6 GB RAM technology, stuttering and lagging are out of the equation. There is also Extended RAM 2.0 technology that gives the feel of 7 GB RAM in a 6 GB RAM smartphone. It incorporates Multi Turbo 5.0 technology that provides faster data connection speeds, processing power and power-saving features. With a blazing clock speed of 2.0 GHz, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 of the Vivo Y20T will blow you away. The Adreno 610 GPU handles the graphics duty.

The display on the Vivo Y20T is a bit disappointing. A lot of thought was put into the processing power of the Vivo Y20T and a bit of the backlash is seen on the display that is used. The Vivo Y20T has a large screen but the 6.5-inch screen is an IPS LCD screen. The screen has a very good resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels but the pixel density is very low. This means that screen colours do not appear that vibrantly. Even in its segment and a bit on the lower end also, a pixel density of just 270 pixels per inch is a bit too low for a smartphone in the 15k – 16k segment. Nevertheless, the Vivo Y20T delivers a full HD+ display and uses the latest in cell technology to deliver images with sharp details. The screen also has an Eye Protection technology to filter harmful blue lights and protect the eye.

This is one section where Vivo has again underperformed a little. The Vivo Y20T offers a 5000 mAh battery pack. The 5000 mAh battery is average compared to competitors but can easily manage to power the Vivo Y20T throughout the day. Causal usage of the phone and even gaming for a few hours can be managed. Also, the Vivo Y20T comes with Vivo’s proprietary VEG technology that learns your everyday usage patterns and conserves battery. But the average battery also means that heavy gaming makes the phone lose power significantly. The Vivo Y20T comes with 18W fast charging and reverses charging capacity. The fast-charging capability is quick but for a 5000 mAh battery, a quicker option could have been used.

The Vivo Y20T comes with a decent camera build. Vivo is known to produce wonderful camera phones but the Vivo Y20T might not be the exact example of that. A triple camera setup including a 13 MP main snapper, a 2 MP Bokeh lens and a 2 MP macro lens that can shoot at up to 4 cm from the rear camera setup. The pictures that you click from the Vivo Y20T are not that splendid and neither that bad too. The camera uses PDAF technology to optimise the colours and hues on the photos that are clicked. One good thing about the camera is that it can change perspectives very easily. The camera has a very good AI technology that enhances the photo but does so without too much exposure or making the image look fake. The front camera is comprised of an 8 MP snapper inside a water notch display and performs well too.

Adorned in polished glass with 2.5 D curves the Vivo Y20T will surely stand out in a crowd. The back has a glazy finish that shines a lot with different lighting angles. The phone snuggly fits in the hand but is a tad bit heavier at 196g. The camera module is placed in a black box in a linear fashion and does not protrude too much. There are two colour options available, one obsidian black that gives out the glow of volcanic rocks and the second is the purest blue that tries to combine the ocean blue with a few technology shades.
