The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is curated to have a slim body and curved edges, with a glossy finish. It has a height of 160.73mm, a width of 77.26mm, and a thickness of 8.1mm. Apart from that, the smartphone is relatively lightweight and easy to hold and weighs merely 170g. The Y2 is available in three different colors to choose from, which include Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has a massive display of 15.2cm, with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Y2 has a typical brightness of 450 nits and a pixel density of 269 PPI. The smartphone operates on a resolution of 1440x720 pixels. Overall, the smartphone ensures an immersive visual experience. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 operates on the fast Snapdragon 625 with the 14 nm architecture, which ensures a lag-free performance. The Y2 is available in two variants, the first one has a RAM of 3GB along with 32GB of ROM and the second variant had 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of ROM. It has a dedicated microSD card slot, which allows an expandable memory of up to 256GB. The Y2’s graphics performance is managed by Adreno 506 graphics processor, which ensures good graphics performance. In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, and Wi-Fi Direct. In terms of navigation and positioning, the smartphone offers support for GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Infrared. The Y2 is equipped with the latest hardware technology, which includes a gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor, an electronic compass,  fingerprint sensor, vibration motor, and an ambient light sensor. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has a massive 3080mAh non-removable battery, which is accompanied by a 5V2A charger, which completely charges the smartphone whin 90 minutes. Once fully charged, its battery can last almost up to a day or so. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has a good set of cameras. It has a 16MP (f\2.0) selfie camera, which has a selfie light. It comes with the feature of automatic HDR, precise bokeh effect powered by AI, and beautify 4.0. It also has a set of rear cameras, which includes, 12MP+5MP AI dual rear cameras supporting PDAF technology, HDR, panorama, AI portrait mode, low light enhancement, and face recognition. The Y2 also allows electronic image stabilization, which ensures stable videos of 1080p and 720p respectively.
