Airtel and Reliance Jio are providing 5G services in select cities. In fact, both telecom operators have announced the name of all cities where 5G is available. Meanwhile, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the 5G services will be available in Odisha by March 2023.
“In the first phase, four-five cities of Odisha will get 5G services by March 2023, and by the end of next year, around 80 percent area of the state will be covered,” he said.
He said that 5G services will be launched in 200 cities under the first phase and a few major cities of Odisha will get the services by the end of March 2023. Under the second phase, 80 percent of the state will get high-speed internet speed, he further informed.
It is worth noting that Jio is providing 5G services in Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Kolkata. On the other hand, Airtel True 5G is offering services in eight cities, including, Siliguri, Nagpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Varanasi.
In the first phase, 13 major cities will have the 5G services, including Jamnagar, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
5G Services Launched: Details
For the unaware, the 5G services has been launched by PM Modi on October 1st at the India Mobile Congress event. The 5G services are expected to offer ultra-high speed, low latency, network efficiency, and highly reliable communication.
It is important to note that India’s third largest telecom operator Vodafone-Idea has not made any announcement on the 5G services, but soon it is expected to bring the network for its users.
