OnePlus launched its new affordable mid-range smartphone series called the OnePlus Nord in July 2020 and it became an instant hit. Buoyed by the success of the original Nord, OnePlus launched an even more affordable smartphone called the Nord CE 5G last month. However, it wasn’t a true successor to the Nord. But now, the company has finally launched the OnePlus Nord 2 in India as a true successor to the original Nord and in this article, we have shared with you the Pros and Cons of the brand new OnePlus Nord 2 5G.

OnePlus Nord 2 Pros and Cons

PROS

Premium Design – The OnePlus Nord 2 looks impressive. It boasts of a premium design with a glass back panel and there are subtle chrome bits surrounding its frame and camera module. OnePlus Nord 2 has a minimalistic design theme and it is available in two colour shades. They are – Gray Sierra and Blue Haze.

Stunning Display – The OnePlus Nord 2 features a 6.43-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90 Hz high refresh rate system. The display panel is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The AMOLED display of the OnePlus Nord 2 is stunning and it has a pixel density of 409 PPI.

Powerful Processor – The new OnePlus Nord 2, like most other flagship devices these days, is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor. This new MediaTek SoC is built on a 6 nm architecture and the chipset comes paired with the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. This processor even supports 5G mobile networks.

Good Cameras – The OnePlus Nord 2 features a triple-camera set-up at the rear. It gets a 50 MP primary camera along with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 MP mono shooter. At the front, the smartphone sports a very high-res 32 MP camera for selfies and videos. The cameras of the new Nord 2 are impressive.

Massive Battery with Superfast Charger – The new OnePlus Nord 2 packs a massive 4500mAh battery and to juice it up, the company is offering a superfast 65W charger bundled inside the retail box.

Decent Price – The new OnePlus Nord 2 has been launched in India in three variants. The base variant gets 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of Internal Storage and has been priced at Rs 27,999. The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB Internal Storage variant is priced at Rs 29,999 while the top-spec 12 GB RAM + 256 GB Internal Storage variant has been priced at Rs 34,999.

CONS

No 3.5 mm Headphone Jack – Just like most modern-day premium smartphones, the new OnePlus Nord 2 misses out on a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Glass Back but Plastic Frame – The new OnePlus Nord 2 has a premium appeal with its glass back design. However, it gets a plastic frame and not a metal frame. OnePlus should have used a metal frame.

OnePlus Nord 2 Pros and Cons

Integrated ColorOS – The OnePlus Nord 2 runs on OxygenOS 11.3 based on Android v11. The OxygenOS 11.3 integrates the ColorOS and OnePlus has added the settings menu, Camera UI, etc. from the ColorOS.

Base Variant’s Availability – The base variant of the OnePlus Nord 2 will be available for a limited period only and that’s actually not good for the consumers as most people want to purchase its base variant only.
