At the 2023 Future of Imaging Technology Conference, which was recently held in Delhi, Tecno introduced “Ultimage.” According to the business, it is a brand-new form of envisioning experience that incorporates smartphone image technology while putting a particular emphasis on sensors and AI processing.
“Ultimage” is a product developed by Tecno that satisfies the needs of portrait photography, anti-shaking capabilities, and low-light photography. Starting with the Camon 20 series, which also includes the Camon 20 Premier 5G, Camon 20 Pro 5G, and Camon 20, this technology will be included in Techno’s Phantom and Camon lineup. By the end of this month, they should be available on the market.
According to the business, the Camon 20 Series will have a 50MP RGBW Ultra-Sensitive sensor, Sensor-Shift OIS Anti-Shaking Technology, and custom AI algorithms. These technologies are described in more depth below.
RGBW Pro Technology
With the help of RGBW Pro technology, Tecno has switched out the usual RGGB color filter’s “green” array solution for a “white” one. In low-light situations, this permits a 208 percent increase in light intake, according to a statement from the business. By swapping out one of the plastic lenses for a glass one, the 1G+6P lens improves the amount of light that enters the primary sensor.
Additionally, the business claims that the Tecno Camon 20 Premier 5G’s main sensor has been improved from 1/1.73 to 1/1.56 and the single pixel size has been raised from 0.8 to 1.0 mm, with a 56.25 percent larger light-sensitive area to enable clear night portraits.

Sensor-Shift Technology
The Camon 20 Premier 5G now offers in-body image stabilization for SLR cameras from Tecno. According to the business, it features Sensor-Shift OIS Anti-Shaking technology to account for shakes up to 5,000 times per second. In contrast to conventional lens stabilization, it operates by exploiting the movement of the camera’s sensor.

Portrait Master Algorithm
Tecno also makes use of the Portrait Master as part of its “Ultimage” experience, which employs a cutting-edge portrait algorithm to improve seven different skin tones. This algorithm promises to be the most sophisticated in the field with over 50 million deep skin tone images, giving users unmatched customization and control for perfecting their photographs.
