Amazon Prime, the most popular OTT app in India, is all set to increase the prices of its packs. The company is expected to raise tariffs by 50 percent than its current price. In fact, the e-commerce platform has already made changes to the website. The changes have been made in the monthly, quarterly, and on annual plans of the Amazon Prime membership.

Amazon Prime Membership Price Increases

The updated price has been listed on the website on the Help & Customer service page. In addition, the company announced that telecom operators will also increase tariffs of the plans.
The company has listed new plans on the webpage and its first pack is will be priced at Rs. 179 instead of Rs. 129. The quarterly pack will cost you Rs. 459 from Rs. 329, whereas the annual pack will be priced at Rs. 1,499 from Rs. 999.

Amazon said,” Since the launch five years ago in IN, Prime has continued to increase the value it offers members. Prime provides an unparalleled combination of shopping, savings, and entertainment benefits to make life more convenient and entertaining every single day, and we continue to invest in making Prime even more valuable for customers.”

Existing Members Can Continue

In addition, the company said existing Prime members are allowed to continue the services with the ongoing packs. However, users can renew their membership with the new price.

Amazon Prime Membership Plans For Students

Furthermore, the company has revised plans for users that are between 18-24 in the country. Earlier, the company used to charge Rs. 499 for a year; however, now Amazon has fixed it to Rs. 749. Similarly, the monthly pack will cost you Rs. 89 from Rs. 64, whereas a quarterly pack will be available at Rs. 229 from Rs. 164 respectively.

For the unaware, the annual subscription to Amazon Prime offers Prime Gaming, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and early delivery of sales with Rs. 1,499. It is worth noting that Amazon Prime has become the second OTT player in India that has increased the prices as Disney+ Hotstar was the first platform that raised tariffs from the beginning of this month.
