Google Pixel 8 Phones
A significant highlight of Google’s October event is the expected unveiling of its latest Pixel smartphones, namely the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These devices are poised to be the company’s flagship offerings and have already made appearances in various certifications and leaks, offering us a glimpse of what to expect. Notably, the Pixel 8 Pro had an accidental leak on Google’s storefront.
Google Pixel 8
The Google Pixel 8 is expected to feature a compact design, sporting a 6.17-inch AMOLED display. This display is likely to be flat with Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, marking an upgrade from the previous Pixel 7’s 90Hz screen. Rumors suggest a peak brightness of around 1400 nits for this device.
Under the hood, the Pixel 8 is likely to be powered by the latest Tensor G3 chipset, accompanied by 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 4.0 base storage. A 4,485mAh battery with 24W fast charging support is expected, and it will run on the Android 14 operating system straight out of the box.

Google Pixel 8 Pro
The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to feature a larger 6.7-inch OLED panel with QHD+ resolution. This display is also set to have a 120Hz refresh rate and a remarkable 1600 nits of peak brightness. The camera setup is reported to include a triple camera system, comprising a 50MP main lens, a 64MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto lens. Additional features like an LED flash unit and an infrared temperature sensor are expected to enhance photography capabilities.
Underneath, the Pro model is likely to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, offering an octa-core configuration. It is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and offer up to 256GB of internal storage. A robust 4,950mAh battery with 27W fast charging support is also on the cards, and it will run on the latest Android 14 OS. Further details, including pricing and color options, will be unveiled at the event in October.
Google Pixel Watch 2
In addition to smartphones, Google is expected to announce a new wearable at the October event, possibly the successor to the Pixel Watch – the Pixel Watch 2. While not much is known about this smartwatch, it did surface in the Play Console listing earlier this month.
The listing shed light on the presence of the Qualcomm SW5100 chipset, believed to be the Snapdragon W5 SoC. The smartwatch is expected to boast 2GB of RAM and operate on Android 13-based Wear OS 4.
Additionally, it is reported to feature a larger 306mAh battery, a step up from the existing Pixel Watch’s 294mAh cell. Ultrawide-band connectivity for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC support for payments are also expected.
Aside from the hardware, Google may also unveil some software-related announcements during the October 4 event, although specific details on these remain undisclosed.
