Ayodhya-Varanasi Water Metro Project: What Is It?
Ayodhtya Water Metro project will be India’s second water metro service which is being launched to promote the waterways for transportation in the country. In the first phase, the metro services will start in Ayodhya, while in the second phase, it will be launched in Varanasi.
Just to recap, the first ever Water metro service were introduced in Kochi. Cochin Shipyard Ltd. will be taking charge of this new project and ship the ferries that will be used for transportation in the Inland waterways of Uttar Pradesh.
This new project will be cutting down on long travel durations via roads. Citizens and tourists will reach different destinations via boat services in the inland waterways. The services will be available between Guptar Ghat and Naya Ghat on the Sarayu river. While the current travel time via road between these two ghats is around 40 minutes, the new ferry services takes around 10 minutes only.

Okaya Charging Stations For Ayodhya Water Metro: What Do We Know?
Okaya EV has introduced authorized EV charging stations in Ayodhya for the Water Metro project. The company has installed super fast 150 kWh CC2 electric vehicle chargers providing a vital support for EV ferries that will operate in the inland waterways of Ayodhya. The EV ferries operating in the inland waterways have a capacity of carrying up to 50 passengers at once.

Second Phase Plans
Post the installation of fast speed charging stations in Ayodhya, Okaya will expand the services in Varanasi. This would be the second phase of the Ayodhya-Varanasi Water Metro project. The primary emphasis will be improving the inland waterways and related infrastructure.
