A Delayed Gratification
Initially launched in October 2023, Spider-Man 2 impressed players with its engaging gameplay. However, it lacked certain features that were eagerly awaited by the community. Chief among these was the New Game+ mode, allowing players to replay the main story with all acquired powers and abilities.
Insomniac, the game’s developer, had hinted at an update incorporating New Game+ and more by the end of 2023. Yet, plans shifted in December, with Insomniac delaying the update until early 2024. The exact release date for this anticipated update has now been confirmed.
New Game+ and Beyond
In a recent tweet on February 7, Insomniac Games announced that the New Game+ update is scheduled to arrive on March 7. While detailed patch notes are yet to be provided, the developer assured players that a comprehensive list of features introduced in the update would be disclosed closer to the launch date.

Delays, But For Quality
Originally slated for release by the end of 2023, the New Game+ mode faced delays as Insomniac emphasized the need for extensive testing to ensure optimal quality. Additionally, the studio acknowledged other requested features such as Audio Descriptions, indicating a commitment to delivering a polished and immersive gaming experience.
Exciting Additions For Players
In the delay announcement, Insomniac teased upcoming features, including the ability to manipulate the time of day, customize tendril colors, and replay missions. These enhancements promise to further enhance players’ interaction with the game world, providing greater flexibility and enjoyment.
A Taste Of Adventure
For those yet to embark on the exhilarating journey through the streets of New York in Spider-Man 2, PlayStation Plus Premium members now have the opportunity to experience two hours of gameplay. This trial period allows players to sample the game before making a purchase decision, ensuring an informed and satisfying gaming experience.
