BYD is envisioning a successful EV portfolio in India. The Chinese auto maker is currently catering to the Indian audiences with two EVs including Atto 3, and E6. Two more models are in pipeline. The BYD Seal was recently spotted being tested and now another model is in line for India launch. This time, the BYD Dolphin has been trademarked which hints its imminent arrival in the country.

BYD Dolphin E-SUV Trademarked: Coming Soon To India
The BYD Dolphin has been trademarked in India. The company has completed the trademark filing for its popular e-SUV in the country indicating at an imminent launch. Notably, the Dolphin EV comes in the BYD Ocean series which has new brand logo. It has been already launched in some of the international markets including China, Europe, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil, and New Zealand.
BYD’s expertise is not just with mid-range but also entry-level and luxury EV range. And with the evolving EV industry in India, BYD is expected to get good response with its premium EV models. The official launch date for the BYD Dolphin in India can’t be guessed just yet; specifically, considering the brand has more than one product lined up for launch in the country.
BYD might drop in some hints suggesting the Dolphin and Seal EV’s India launch timeline going forward. Whether both the models will break covers by 2024 or will their launch be pushed forward to 2025 remains to be seen.

BYD Dolphin E-SUV India Prices: Expected
The exact pricing range for BYD Dolphin e-SUV will be revealed after the official launch. However, rumor mill suggests an asking price for this e-SUB starting at around Rs. 25 lakh which will make it go against the likes of the MG ZS EV, upcoming Creta EV, and Harrier EV.

BYD Dolphin Powertrain And Features
The BYD Dolphin e-SUV comes with FWD (front-wheel-drive) featuring a single motor which produces up to 201 bhp of peak power. The e-SUV is capable of producing up to 310 Nm peak torque. There are two battery variants of the BYD Dolphin which includes a 44.9 kWh and a 64.8 kWh module. The top speed which this premium e-SUV can reach is up to 160 kmph.
