BYD is definitely getting its game stronger in the EV segment not just in its home country China, but the remaining markets as well including India. The Chinese automaker has logged itself as one of the leading brands in the EV industry with its electric SUVs, electric sedan, and hatchbacks. Now, the brand has added a new model to its portfolio which will be sitting between its popular offerings including the BYD Dolphin and the Atto 3. Called BYD Yuan UP, the upcoming variant will be a compact e-SUV which possibly will head to the European regions with a familiar moniker.

BYD Yuan UP Design Language
The BYD Yuan UP aka the BYD Atto2 is said to be the Chinese car maker’s most smallest electric SUV until now. It will be debuting as a compact e-SUV which will measure 4310 mm in length, 1830mm in width, and 1675 mm in height. It will feature a 2620 mm of wheelbase which is slightly higher than that of the Atto 3.
The BYD Yuan UP features a front-mounted charging port and features a closed-off grille structure upfront painted in black. This compact electric SUV will be offering options for additional luggage rack and panoramic sunroof.
Connected LED tail lights and spoilers mounted on the roof enhances the overall appeal of the new BYD compact e-SUV. Interiors seems to be slightly trimmed down when compared to the Atto3. The BYD Yuan UP includes a big 12.8-inch and an 8.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment and instrument cluster respectively.

The BYD Yuan UP or the BYD Atto2 has been designed on the brand’s e-Platform 3.0 architecture. A front-axle mounted electric motor drives the BYD Yuan UP producing up tp 130 kW peak power. The compact e-SUV will be available in two different battery pack options including a 32 kWh and a 41.5 kWh model.
The smaller battery pack variant of the BYD Yuan UP can offer a driving range of up to 301 km on a full charge and the bigger battery model will offer approximately 401 km range with each full charge. The new compact SUV from BYD is capable of throttling to a max speed of up to 160 kmph.
