Ola seems to have landed itself in big soup. The E2W manufacturer has already been taking extreme heat from the consumers for providing bad after sales services and frequent breakdowns of Ola e-scooters. Ola Electric Show-cause Notice From CCPA

Ola Electric has been issued the show-cause notice dated October 3, 2024 for violating multiple provisions that fall under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. As we all know, numerous customers have taken it to social media platforms tagging Ola Electric to narrate their ordeal with the e-scooter deliveries and after-sales services and repairs.

As per CCPA, it has received over 9,000 complaints from the consumers within a span of just one year. The show-cause notice covers the major grievances from the customers owning an Ola e-scooter ranging from continuous breakdowns, delayed deliveries, poor after sales repair services, and even misleading advertisements of its products.

If we speak of the actual numbers, the CCPA (Central Consumer Protection Authority) has logged around 9,948 complaints from Ola electric scooter customers. The timeframe within which these complaints have been registered on the National Consumer Helpline is from September 1, 2023 till August 30,2024.

Just for reference, this show-cause notice issued for Ola dates October 3, 2024 covers all the unfair trade practices and issues as reported by the consumers. It is worth noting that Ola has been asked to revert to the show-cause notice within 15 days.

Ola’s Response On The Show-Cause Notice

Ola Electric has reportedly given an acknowledgement to the show-cause notice issued by the CCPA. The E2W is said to be giving assurance to resolve and address all the customer complaints. Furthermore, Ola electric will be sharing the response on the show-cause notice within the 15-days time frame along with required documentations.
