Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India is ramping up for its first electric scooter launch. The brand is all set for the grand unveiling of the Activa Electric and is teasing the upcoming e-scooter’s features online. Following the round of cryptic round of teasers, Honda shared the key highlights of the Activa Electric including the digital instrument clusters and more. And now, additional insight on the Activa electric has been shared once again via teasers. This time the battery and motor details have been revealed. Details below:

Honda Activa Electric Motor
With the new set of teasers, Activa electric scooter’s battery and motor details have been confirmed. Honda is using a different motor pack for the Activa electric. A swingarm-mounted electric motor will be churning out power to the upcoming e-scooter.
This setup is entirely different than the commonly used PMSM electric motor which drives majority of the e-scooters in the country including models from Ola, Ather, etc. On the other hand, the swingarm-mounted electric motor setup also drives some of the few e-scooter models such as the Bajaj Chetak and the Hero Vida V1.

Battery Pack Details
Besides the motor pack, Honda has also confirmed the battery module that will be used by the Activa electric. And as expected, the Activa electric will be loaded with a dual swappable battery setup. While the company hasn’t revealed the battery size, it did tease the range which is around 104 km on a full charge.
This swappable battery setup definitely comes as an added convineince for the e-scooter owners. With this setup, riders will be able to swap the empty battery with fully charged units which further will help with efficient time management and also cut down on the hassles of waiting during charging.
