After launching a few audio products, Nothing is planning to launch smartphones soon. The company officially confirmed the same at the global event today (Wednesday) and the smartphone will be known as Nothing Phone (1). Notably, this is the second product by the company.

Founder Carl Pei also revealed that the Nothing Phone will be launched this Summer, which means the device will be available from June and September. However, several reports claim that the device will be available in April and there is no specific date and month has been shared by any report.

Nothing Upcoming Phone: Details

It is worth noting that the Nothing Phone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform; however, the exact chipset has not been shared by the company. In case, the company is eyeing premium customers, then the device might have Snapdragon 800 series processor.

Additionally, the company announced that the upcoming smartphone will have Nothing OS on top of Android. Plus, there are high chances that it will have Android 12 OS like other devices that are launching in the country.

“Nothing OS captures the best features of pure Android, distilling the operating system to just the essentials, where every byte has a purpose. It is designed to deliver a fast, smooth, and personal experience. A coherent interface, the hardware seamlessly integrates with software through bespoke fonts, colours, graphical elements, and sounds,” the company said.

Nothing Raised Money

Apart from the founder of the company announced that it has raised $144 million. “Having raised $144M, built a team of over 300 people, and secured support from trusted partners like Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, we are ready for a phone (1) to mark the start of change for the sleepy smartphone market,” said Carl Pei.

He also said, “We are also doing a new $10M round of community investment so that our supporters get the chance to be part of our journey going head to head against the giants of the industry.”
