The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 has kicked off with a bang. On September 27, Prime members were granted exclusive access to the event for a full day beforehand. As of right now, it’s the largest ever for brand partners and sellers. Almost 11 crore customers visited in the first 48 hours, and more than 8,000 dealers made more than Rs. 1 lakh in sales. Over 25,000 new products were introduced at this year’s festival sale in categories like laptops, TVs, smartphones, and more.

Record-breaking Prime Member Shopping
Amazon Prime members were particularly active this year. The highest-ever number of Prime members shopped during the first 24 hours, with 140 percent more members making purchases compared to an average day. Eight times as many products as usual were purchased by customers, and over 3 lakh unique items were delivered the same or following day.
Demand From Tier-II And Tier-III Cities
One of the key highlights of the festival sale was the growing demand from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. More than 75 percent of smartphone sales came from these cities, with 70 percent of premium phone sales exceeding Rs. 30,000. Home appliances were also popular in smaller cities, and brands like Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi saw significant growth in sales.
Increased Use Of Amazon Pay And Digital Payments
Amazon Pay ICICI Co-Branded Credit Card became a popular payment method, with 1 in 11 orders placed using it. UPI payments through Amazon Pay grew by 16 percent, showing the increasing comfort of Indians with digital payments. Travel also saw a boost, with double the flight tickets and 1.6 times more hotel bookings compared to last year.

Focus On Convenience
Amazon made shopping more convenient with EMI offers, cashback, and exchange options on big-ticket items like smartphones, TVs, and appliances. Over 8,000 Amazon experts provided free home installation and setup services across 400+ cities.
