Apple has released two new Pride Edition wrist bands for the Apple Watch to celebrate the upcoming Pride Month this June. The two news bands have been unveiled as part of the company’s support for the global LGBTQ+ community and equality moment. These Apple watch bands will come with dynamic Pride watch faces.
As mentioned in the official press release of Apple, this year’s Pride Edition Sport Loop features a color gradient with the word “pride” sewn directly into the band. On Instagram, the tech giant is also launching a new Shot on iPhone pride campaign that showcases the soul of the artists and figures within the global LGBTQ+ community.
Apple Unveils New Watch Bands
The Cupertino-based tech giant has introduced a new Pride Edition Sport Loop for its smartwatch. The company employed new technology to remove the band’s double-layer nylon-woven textile loops, revealing the word “pride.” This text’s typeface was inspired by the original “hello” greeting font on the first Macintosh which was released in 1984. Besides, the new Sports band’s color gradient is inspired by the original rainbow flag and incorporates colors from various pride flags.
Apple Launched A New Watch Face
Apple has unveiled a new watch face with vertical stripes of various colors to celebrate Pride Month. When the Digital Crown of the Apple Watch is rotated, the display is tapped, or the user’s wrist is raised, the colorful threads move. The tech company has also included a new App Clip capability in the band packaging. This provides users with a quick and easy method to access the new matching watch face.
In addition to this, a new Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop has also been released by Apple. A rainbow-colored Nike Bounce face is included with the band. The band uses black as the base color which adds a strong contrast to the pride colors. The Pride Edition Sport Loop and the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop will cost $49 each in the US. They will be available for order on apple.com and the Apple Store app. All the newly launched products will be listed on the official website of Apple from 26 May 2022.
