iOS 18.2: Features
- ChatGPT Integration: Through their collaboration with OpenAI, Apple has integrated ChatGPT into Siri. Because of this integration, Siri can now do increasingly difficult jobs including producing original writing, taking notes on documents, and creating graphics. Siri can perform activities that are above its present capabilities by using ChatGPT.
- Genmoji: Apple introduces Genmoji, a flexible emoji feature that goes beyond standard Unicode limitations. Users can design custom emojis based on their descriptions or even create emojis that resemble people from their photo library. With a dedicated API, Genmoji displays seamlessly in any Apple app supporting rich text.
- Enhanced Writing Tools: The Writing Tools feature, launched in iOS 18.1, is getting upgrades to allow more customizable tone adjustments. Now, users can specify tones and make content tweaks, such as adding action-oriented language or even turning text into poetic form.
- Visual Intelligence: Available on the iPhone 16 series, Visual Intelligence gives insights into surroundings. Users can point their cameras at locations like restaurants to see reviews and hours or at objects to learn more details through ChatGPT. Additional features include text-to-speech, copying text, and easily adding contact details from visual inputs.
- Image Wand: Integrated into the Notes app, Image Wand lets users create images that complement their notes. You can circle an empty area to generate an image based on your note’s content, or draw a shape and have Image Wand produce a relevant illustration.
- Image Playground: Apple’s new standalone Image Playground app allows users to generate stylized images from prompts, offering Animation or Illustration styles. You can personalize images with likenesses of friends and family from the Photos app, and the app can integrate with Notes, Messages, and other compatible apps.
