Now, Apple is reportedly extending this transition to its accessories, with the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard set to receive the Type-C port. Type-C Accessories Coming Next Month
According to Mark Gurman’s weekly newsletter, “Power On,” these accessories are expected to adopt the Type-C port as soon as next month, in October. They will make their debut alongside the new iMac.
Gurman suggests that the 2023 lineup, which includes these Type-C accessories, is a temporary solution. Apple is gearing up for more significant innovations in the coming year, with USB-C integration expected across a broader range of devices.
More Type-C Products In The Pipeline
The analyst also anticipates the introduction of vanilla AirPods with a USB-C charging case in 2023, although a specific timeline remains unclear. Furthermore, the next-generation AirPods Max may also incorporate the Type-C charging port.

Transitioning The Entire Lineup
Apple’s commitment to the Type-C port is evident in its transition of the entire product lineup, encompassing all accessories.
Apple Watch Series X
Gurman’s newsletter also provides insights into Apple’s roadmap. The much-awaited 10th-anniversary Apple Watch, possibly named the Apple Watch Series X, is expected to debut sometime between 2024 and 2025. This new model is rumored to introduce an AI-powered health coaching service, a blood pressure monitor, and more.
Redesigned iPad Pro And Other Advancements
Apple may also unveil a redesigned iPad Pro, marking the first design change in five years. This refreshed model is expected to feature OLED displays for both the 11-inch and 13-inch versions, alongside improved accessories like an overhauled Magic Keyboard. Additionally, Apple is projected to introduce 3nm M3 processors for new MacBooks and Macs, larger display sizes for the iPhone 16, and Apple GPT in 2024.
Apple Vision Pro
In the same report, Gurman suggests that the Apple Vision Pro headset may not generate significant revenue but aims to draw consumers to Apple retail stores, offering a unique and immersive experience.
