Asus ROG Ally Gaming Handheld Set To Launch In India

(Last Updated On: )

After its public debut last month, Asus made the ROG Ally Handheld console available for purchase in several countries, including China, Italy, and Japan. The portable gaming system will soon arrive in India.

A teaser for the ROG Ally was tweeted by the official Asus ROG India Twitter account, teasing the device’s impending launch in India. The ROG Ally will be among the first current-gen handheld gaming consoles to come in India, which is fantastic news for Indian gamers. The Nintendo Switch and the Valve Steam deck are both available for purchase in India, but as the corresponding brands haven’t formally introduced them there, the imported consoles are being sold for exorbitant prices without a guarantee or official customer service.

Asus ROG Ally: Expected Specs

The 7-inch IPS screen on the Asus ROG Ally portable gaming console has a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. With a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a peak brightness of 500 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection for increased durability, the screen provides fluid pictures.

The AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which is based on the Zen 4 architecture, powers the console. The Ryzen Z1 processor is also available in a little less advanced variant. The ROG Ally provides excellent performance for gaming and multitasking with AMD Radeon Navi3 Graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.

The system, which utilizes Windows 11, gives users access to a variety of games from services including Steam, EA applications, Epic Games, and Xbox Game Pass. Even a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is included. The gaming experience is increased with the dual speaker configuration with Asus’ Smart Amplifier Technology.

The console has three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port combinations for the ROG XG Mobile Interface, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for a UHS-II microSD card reader. It’s crucial to keep in mind, though, that the ROG Ally’s 40WHr battery with 65W charging capability could not have the same battery life as some of its rivals, like the Steam Deck.

Asus ROG Ally: Expected Price

The growth of mobile gaming in India shows that there is a significant market need for gaming handhelds there. However, the cost of these consoles will have a big impact on how popular they are. According to recent reports, the AMD Ryzen Z1 CPU-equipped ROG Ally would cost 71,999 INR (about $875), while the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor version is anticipated to cost 79,999 INR (about $973). To Indian buyers, these leaked prices may seem extravagantly costly compared to the US costs of $599 and $699, respectively.
