Ather Energy is rolling out ARAS (Advanced Rider Assistance System) for its e-scooter fleet which brings added safety feature for the owners. All Ather e-scooters will now get dedicated safety features including Skid Control and FallSafe. These new features are being added to the Ather e-scooters as OTA update which means no special visit to the service centre is required for the same.

For reference, the SkidControl is the safety feature which will control the traction of the e-scooter and will monitor and accordingly tweak the motor torque so that skidding on low-friction surfaces such as gravel, sand, or water can be easily avoided.

On the other hand, the FallSafe safety feature being introduced as a part of the ARAS scheme adds protection from accidental falls. If in case, this feature detects the e-scooter’s fall, it will automatically cut the power supply to the motor. With this the added risks injuries can be avoided as the acceleration won’t work when there is no power supply to the motor.
