Realme Mobiles is going all guns blazing in the Indian market to stay ahead of its competition. Just a few months ago, in March 2021, the company launched the new Realme 8 series which comprises the Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro. It was followed by the launch of the all-new Realme 8 5G in April 2021 which was priced from Rs. 14,999. But now, the Realme 8 5G has become the cheapest 5G smartphone in India as the company has launched a new variant of this smartphone. Here we have for you all the details about it.

The Realme 8 5G was launched in India last month in two variants – 4GB RAM + 128GB Internal Storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB Internal Storage. Upon launch, the former was the base variant and it was priced at Rs. 14,999 while the latter was priced at Rs. 16,999. But now, to stay ahead of its rivals and to offer the customers a more affordable 5G device, the company has launched a new base variant of the same. The new base variant of the Realme 8 5G sports 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. It has been priced at just Rs. 13,999, making it the cheapest 5G smartphone in India (as of May 2021).

Realme 8 5G – Key Specifications

The new Realme 8 5G is decently loaded with features. It houses a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2400 pixels. Also, it gets a 90 Hz refresh rate system. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 700 chipset (MT6833). This is an Octa-core processor which is built on a 7 Nm architecture and supports 5G mobile networks. The Realme 8 5G runs Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11. It packs in a massive 5000mAh battery, supports 18W fast charging and gets an 18W charger in the box.

Realme 8 5G – Camera Features and Rivals

The new Realme 8 5G features a triple camera set-up at the rear. There is a 48MP primary shooter from Samsung along with a 2MP monochrome sensor and a 2MP tertiary sensor. At the front, it gets a 16MP camera for selfies and videos. The new Realme 8 5G doesn’t have any direct rivals in India. But, indirectly it rivals the company’s own Realme 8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Oppo A74 5G, etc.

Infinix will soon launch a new feature-rich budget smartphone in the Indian market. For people not in the know, let me tell you that Infinix is a smartphone brand from Hong Kong-based Transsion Group which makes good budget smartphones. Infinix’s smartphones are quite popular in India and the company is now planning to soon launch a new smartphone in the country. The India launch of the new Infinix Hot 10S will take place on May 20, 2021. Here are some more details about it.

Infinix Hot 10S – Key Specifications (Expected)

The upcoming new Infinix Hot 10S will feature a 6.82-inch HD+ TFT display which Infinix likes to call an ‘Ultra Smooth Display’. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor which is a good processor for budget smartphones. The new Infinix Hot 10S will run on Android 11 coupled with the latest XOS 7.6 skin along with a Dar-Link technology for a superior and smooth gaming performance.

The smartphone will be available in two storage options. Both the variants of the new smartphone will get 64GB of internal storage coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The new Infinix Hot 10S will get a massive 6000mAh battery but whether it will get fast charging support or not is uncertain at the moment. Also, the company claims that the new Hot 10S can deliver up to 62 days of standby time.

Infinix Hot 10S – Camera Features and Colour Variants

The new Infinix Hot 10S will feature a triple camera set-up at the rear. There will be a 48MP primary sensor coupled with a 2MP sensor and an AI lens. At the front, the smartphone will house an 8MP camera for selfies and videos. Talking about its colour variants, so the new Infinix Hot 10S will be available in four colour shades. They are – Heart of Ocean, Morandi Green, 7-Degree Purple and 95-Degree Black.

Infinix Hot 10S – Launch Date and Expected Price in India

The India launch of the new Infinix Hot 10S is scheduled for May 20, 2021, and it will be priced under Rs. 10,000. In fact, the company in its official press release said, “Priced under 10K, the all-new HOT 10S promises an array of top-notch features and tailor-made applications to ensure a next-level smartphone experience for the consumers. For more specifications, follow the Flipkart store page from May 16. So, be prepared to get your hands on the season’s most uncompromised smartphone.”

The Realme 8 was launched in India in March this year at a starting price of Rs. 14,999 for the base 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant. It is available in two other variants too. The price of the Realme 8 has been now slashed in India and all the variants now cost 500 rupees less than before. The prices have been updated on both Flipkart’s website as well as on Realme India’s website. But, Realme India’s website shows that these discounted prices will be available on the company’s website only till May 14, 2021.

Realme 8 Price Slashed – But Why?

Realme Mobiles have not given any official statement as to why they have reduced the prices. But, it seems that this is the effect of Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S‘ aggressive pricing. Just yesterday, Xiaomi launched the new Redmi Note 10S in India at a starting price of Rs. 14,999 for the base 6GB + 64GB variant. Both these new smartphones are evenly matched in multiple parameters and so it seems that Realme wants to lure buyers towards its smartphone by giving them the Realme 8 at a discounted price for some period of time. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the Realme 8 5G and the Realme 8 Pro have not got any price benefits.

Realme 8 4G – Key Specifications

The Realme 8 4G is a feature-packed smartphone. It features a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset that comes coupled with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. Xiaomi has just launched the new Redmi Note 10S smartphone in India. The Redmi Note 10S is the fourth smartphone in the company’s Redmi Note 10 series. The other three of them are – Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The price of the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S in India starts at Rs. 14,999. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S – Key Specifications

The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S features a 6.43-inch FHD+ (1080 X 2400 pixels) AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1100 nits. However, the panel misses out on a high refresh rate system and it gets a 60 Hz screen. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Redmi Note 10S is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset (codenamed as the MediaTek MT6785). The MT Helio G95 is a very capable chipset for mid-range smartphones and it made its India debut in September last year with the Realme 7.

The SoC is paired with the Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. If we talk about storage options, it is available with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM coupled with 64 GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory. The smartphone runs on Android 11 OS with MIUI 12.5 skin on top. The new Redmi Note 10S packs in a massive 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and the fast charger is bundled inside the box. The smartphone gets dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and also the 3.5mm jack, etc.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S – Camera Features

The newly launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S gets a quad-camera set-up at the rear. The primary sensor of the smartphone is a 64MP unit with an f/1.79 lens. The other three sensor includes an 8MP ultra-wide unit with an f/2.2 lens, a 2MP macro shooter with f/2.4 lens, and the last one is a 2MP depth sensor that comes with an f/2.4 lens. At the front, the new Redmi Note 10S gets a 13MP camera for selfies and videos with an f/2.45 aperture. The 64MP primary camera of the rear is capable of shooting up to 4K 30FPS videos.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S – Price and Availability

The price of the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S in India starts at Rs. 14,999 for the base 6GB + 64GB variant while the 6GB + 128GB variant has been priced at Rs. 16,999. The pricing is very much close to the Redmi Note 10 Pro which starts at Rs. 15,999 but the Redmi Note 10S actually bridges the gap between the Redmi Note 10 and the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S will go on sale from May 18, 2021, via Amazon India’s website, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and the company’s retail dealerships.
