Hyundai has kicked off the Auto Expo 2023 with the launch of Ioniq 5 electric SUV. For the first 300 clients, this latest electric SUV is being offered at an introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakhs. While the Ioniq 5 eSUV comes in five different variants, in India it comes in a single option.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Design: Exterior, Interior
The new launched Hyundai Ioniq 5 flaunts a futuristic appearance that will get some heads turning on the roads. The latest premium Hyundai electric SUV features flush door handles and an Active Air Flap for a simple yet improved aerodynamics. The electric SUV’s wheels are topped by a clamshell bonnet resembling the front of the electric vehicle.
Pixel LED tail lights at the back offer subtle yet premium appeal. This Ioniq EV model is introduced in three colors including Gravity gold matter, Optic white, and Midnight Black Pearl all of which complement the modern style language.
The Ioniq’s cabin offers a luxurious feel when you step inside. Thanks to the Dark Pebble Gray finish. The dashboard boasts soft-touch materials, and ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, linked car technology, a Bose sound system, and more.
Additionally, the seat upholstery is made of eco-processed leather. All four disc brakes, six airbags, ABS with EBD, an engine parking brake, and other equipment are included in the model’s safety package. There is also a front trunk with a 571-liter boot size.

Hyundai Ioniq 5: Powertrain
The floor-mounted 72.6 kWh battery pack for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV is said to deliver around 631 km range on a single charge. The electric motor generates around 214 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. According to Hyundai, the 350 kW DC charger can fully charge the Ioniq 5 SUV from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS and the Vehicle 2 Load function are also included with the Ioniq 5.
Hyundai Ioniq 5: Safety Features
As part of its list of standard safety equipment, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has six airbags, an electric parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels, a multi-collision avoidance braking system, and a power child lock.
The Ioniq 5 also has Level 2 ADAS functions, which include, to mention a few, features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control.
