In response to the reduction of FAME II subsidy benefits by the Indian Government, leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers in India, including Ola Electric and Ather Energy, have decided to increase the prices of their electric scooters. Following suit, Bajaj and Hero MotoCorp have also announced price hikes on their popular electric scooters, namely the Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida V1 Pro.
Price Hikes by Bajaj and Hero MotoCorp
The Indian Government’s reduction of FAME II subsidy benefits has prompted electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers in India, such as Ola Electric and Ather Energy, to increase the prices of their electric scooters. Bajaj and Hero Vida have followed suit and announced price hikes for their popular electric scooters, the Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida V1 Pro.
Bajaj Chetak Price Hike
Bajaj has raised the price of its premium electric scooter, the Bajaj Chetak, by Rs 22,000. As a result, the ex-showroom price of the Bajaj Chetak now stands at Rs 1.44 lakh.

Hero Vida V1 Price Hike
Hero MotoCorp has increased the price of its Hero Vida V1 Pro electric scooter by Rs 6,000. The scooter now carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.46 lakh. However, in cities with higher state-wise subsidies such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara, the Vida V1 Pro is available for Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom).

Upcoming TVS iQube Prices
TVS has not yet announced the final prices for its iQube line of electric scooters. However, the company’s Senior VP, Manu Saxena, has indicated that the estimated price range will be between Rs 17,000 and Rs 22,000. Customers can expect an update on the refreshed prices soon.
