BYD E-Scooter Patent Filing Hints Upcoming Launch
BYD is all set to take on the E2W segment with its first electric scooter soon. At least, that’s what the patent filing of the BYD e-scooter hints at. The leaked patent document of the first BYD e-scooter reveals a maxi-style scooter in works. A closer look at the patent drawings of the BYD e-scooters shows a large split seat design with heavy padding making it comfortable for both the rider and the pillion.
The facia seen in the patent image is further seen with a USD fork suspension and dual radial brake calipers. The rear profile of the BYD e-scooter as seen in the patent drawings feature a coaxially mounted swingarm that is linked to the motor.
Target Audience And Expected Powertrain
It seems that BYD will take on the mid-range and premium consumers with the upcoming e-scooter. But this speculation is solely based on the patent drawings. It is also being anticipated that this BYD e-scooter will be comparable with 250- 350 cc ICE scooters offering up to to 35 bhp of peak power. There are further rumors that the BYD e-scooter could be packed with battery capacity ranging between 9- 10 kWh.
