India has become one of the biggest emerging markets for electric vehicles in recent years. At Auto Expo 2023 held last week, we came across some of the top upcoming electric cars, SUVs, and bikes in the country. This segment is expected to expand rapidly and in the coming years. Joy E-bike MIHOS is the latest addition to the e-scooter market in India developed by in collaboration with WardWizard R&D team, Vadodara. The latest e-scooter will please audiences bent toward retro-themed design.

Starting with the Joy MIHOS e-scooter’s powertrain, the latest e-scooter is packed with a Li-ion battery. The battery capacity is 2.5kWh which is coupled with Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) technology that is said to offer reliability in the longer run. The company claims it takes around 5 hours for the battery to get a full charge.

The e-scooter’s battery is also packed with several sensors that protect the battery from random and sudden current surges with the changing weather. The Joy retro-style e-scooter will be offering around 100 km of range on a single charge from the aforementioned battery setup.

Acceleration speed is 0-40 km/h within 7 seconds. The MIHOS e-scooter used an electric Hub motor that delivers around 1500W peak power. The electric scooter uses telescopic suspension upfront and reverse spring parking suspension at the rear. A Combi Brake System handles the braking on this new e-scooter.

The MIHOS e-scooter’s additional set of features includes compatibility with Joy E-connect app which will enable one-tap control for MIHOS Connect and control using Bluetooth wireless network. Furthermore, the Joy MIHOS e-scooter is also equipped with GPS-enabled real-time position and geo-fencing features.

Joy MIHOS E-Scooter India Price

The Joy MIHOS retro e-scooter comes with an asking price of 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It will be available in Metallic Blue, Pearl White, Solid Yellow Glossy, and Solid Black Glossy shade in the country.

Electric vehicles are the latest hype at the Auto Expo 2023 event. Multiple new electric cars, bikes, and SUVs have been showcased at India’s largest automobile show. We have seen some amazing concept vehicles too this time. Liger Mobility is one of those brands that have launched one-of-a- electric scooter range. The Liger X and the Liger X+ are the two self-balancing electric scooters that have marked their presence at the Auto Expo 2023 event and would possibly be launched soon in the country.

Liger X, Liger X+ Self Balancing Electric Scooters Features

The Liger X and the Liger X+ electric scooters are amongst the first lot of electric scooters that will be offering an AutoBalancing feature. As the name suggests, these two Liger X series scooters will be capable of self-balancing while driving allowing for a safer commute. This security feature will automatically balance the electric scooters at lower speeds keeping accidental crashes at bay.

A Learner mode is also integrated whose function is to optimize the AutoBalancing mode by limiting the speed of the electric scooter. Both these electric scooters also integrate some other features to offer improved riding with added comfort. The ReverseRide feature is one of them which will allow users to easy parking in cramped spaces.

For this, both these electric scooters will use engine power instead of the battery. To further improve the riding experience, Liger has also promised OTA (over-the-air) updates for the Liger X and Liger X+ scooters.

Additional features that will be offered by the Liger X and the Liger X+ electric scooters will be a TFT dash that will display notification alerts and also turn-by-turn notifications once the cluster is paired with the smartphone using a proprietary app.

Liger X, Liger X+ Powertrain

Speaking of the powertrain, the Liger X and the Liger X+ will be packed with a Li-Ion battery setup. The former will ship with a removable Li-Ion battery setup, while the latter will be released with a non-removable battery module.

The exact battery specs aren’t disclosed, but the charging time will be 4.5 hours with the standard charger. Both the Liger X and the Liger X+ will offer around 60km and 100km range on a single charge respectively. The top speed attained by both Liger X electric scooters will be 65kph.  While the pricing details aren’t out, both Liger X and Liger X+ self-balancing features will come in Grey, Polar White, Blue, Red, and Titanium.

The LML Star electric scooter has a futuristic appearance. It features a black and white dual-tone theme with red accents. The electric scooter includes LED Daytime Running Lamps and a projector headlight. In addition, the scooter would have LED illumination, a 360-degree camera, and haptic feedback.

Safety Features

In terms of features, the electric scooter has a customizable interactive display that provides text that can be changed to suit the needs of the user. Additionally, it has integrated DRLs, backlights, indicators, and ambient lighting.

The LML Star scooter is equipped with TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), ABS, reverse park assist, and other safety features. Additionally, this scooter has a powerful motor and battery. It has a large boot space and a replaceable battery that helps it have a lower centre of gravity.

There is a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack included with the new LML Star. The scooter’s PMSM motor produces a maximum power of 5 kW and a maximum torque of 38 Nm. The scooter’s top speed is 85 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The electric scooter’s range has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer as of now, but it is said to be the one of the best in its league. Hardware on the electric scooter features 12-inch alloy tubeless wheels, telescoping front forks, and mono-shock rear suspension. The integrated braking system and the front and rear disc brakes work together to generate stopping power.

Kratos X And Kratos R: Details

New Tork Kratos X features include an aluminium swingarm and a 7-inch touch-compatible TFT dash. The business hasn’t specified how much more powerful the motor will be than the one on the Kratos R, but it also receives a new FF (Furiously Fast) mode. With the X, the company will also provide a more potent powertrain, though details have not yet been released.

Along with new panniers in accessories, the brand also unveiled a new portable charger that charges devices just as quickly as a home charger. The company also disclosed their future ambitions, which include a 60,000-unit-capacity new production plant.

Krotos X And Kratos R: Price And Availability

Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t yet disclosed the Kratos X’s price, but we may learn more in the upcoming months. The Kratos R electric bike’s precise cost and availability information is also unknown, although it is expected to become clearer in the following months.

Jimny 5-Door: Design

With the exception of the additional pair of doors and longer wheelbase, the Jimny 5 door looks exactly like the Jimny 3 door. It has a black grille with chrome surrounds up front. Round projector headlights with LED DRLs are mounted on either side of the grille. Round fog lights and a tough front bumper with a favorable approach angle are further features of the Jimny 5 door.

The Jimny 5 door will have 16-inch alloy wheels on the side. The installation of rear doors and full 2-row seating will be the most noticeable modification. The Jimny 5 door will have low-set tail lights and an alloy wheel mounted on the tailgate in the back.

Jimny 5-Door: Features And Interior

The interior of the Jimny 5 door are also identical to the Jimny 3 door. The infotainment system have a big touchscreen and an upright dashboard. Additionally, a few tough design features like grab handles on the A-pillars and circular AC vents. The Jimny 5 door have low range gearing, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, AC vents, front and rear locking differentials, and steering-mounted controls.

Jimny 5-Door: Powertrain

The Jimny 5 Door gets K15B 4-cylinder 1.5L regular petrol engine. The engine generates 134.2 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm and 104.8 PS of power at 6000 rpm. A 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic torque converter accompanied by a 4WD All Grip Pro technology.

The TVS iQube ST electric scooter comes as an upgraded version of the existing iQube electric scooter series. This latest version has been integrated with a new TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) module. The electric scooter will also come along with a voice command assist feature. These are the primary technological upgrades that the latest version of TVS iQube electric scooter is packed with.

TVS hasn’t made any major design upgrades to the iQube ST electric scooter when compared to the current-generation model. The LED headlamps and the remaining lighting aspects remain the same.

The TVS iQube ST electric scooter borrows the remaining hardware aspects similar to the existing models. It is packed with a large 7-inch TFT display with touch controls. In terms of features, the iQube ST offers Bluetooth connectivity, a reverse parking assist feature, geo-fencing, USB charging port, and a turn-by-turn navigation system. It also has a music control system.

Speaking of the powertrain, the TVS iQube ST electric scooter draws its power from a 3kW motor. It uses a 4.56 kWh battery capacity which as per TVS can deliver around 145 km range on a single charge. Furthermore, with the regular EV charger, this updated TVS electric scooter can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in around 4 hours. Top speed attained by the iQube ST will be 82 km/hr. For braking, there will be disc brakes upfront, while the rear gets drum brakes. TVS is yet to reveal the exact pricing of the iQube ST electric scooter in India.

Tata Harrier EV Unwrapped At Auto Expo 2023: When Is India Launch?

On the opening day of the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors showcased its electric prowess with the launch of new age electric SUVs. The Tata Harrier EV concept’s introduction at Auto Expo 2023 has been a major major highlight. The Harrier EV, which was displayed in a nearly finished form, is expected to hit the Indian market either by 2024 or 2025. Tata has not yet provided any details, but we can anticipate that the SUV will have a battery probably between 60 and 70 kWh.

Tata Harrier EV Concept: Exterior And Features

The Tata Harrier EV shares a lot of similarities with its ICE predecessor in terms of appearance, but it also stands out enough as an EV. It flaunts almost identical split headlamp design up fron as the standard model. However, it features a new LED light bar that extends the entire width of the electric SUV.

The interior of the Harrier EV hasn’t been seen well, but it is expected to include a large touchscreen and a few additional features. Tata did confirm if the Harrier EV SUV will have cloud-linked telematics, over-the-air updates, and connected car technologies integrated.

Tata Harrier EV Concept: Specifications

The Harrier EV concept combines Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture with the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture utilized by the ICE-powered Harrier. The Harrier EV electric SUV has been extensively re-engineered for electrification despite being built on an ICE platform. The gasoline tank area will undergo changes, the interior will have a level floor, and it will be lighter and more energy-efficient.

Tata did not specify the electric motor or battery specifications, but the company did say that it will have a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. The Harrier EV’s battery is anticipated to have a capacity of about 60 kWh and return a real-world range of between 400 and 500 kilometres.

Hyundai has kicked off the Auto Expo 2023 with the launch of Ioniq 5 electric SUV. For the first 300 clients, this latest electric SUV is being offered at an introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakhs. While the Ioniq 5 eSUV comes in five different variants, in India it comes in a single option.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Design: Exterior, Interior

The new launched Hyundai Ioniq 5 flaunts a futuristic appearance that will get some heads turning on the roads. The latest premium Hyundai electric SUV features flush door handles and an Active Air Flap for a simple yet improved aerodynamics. The electric SUV’s wheels are topped by a clamshell bonnet resembling the front of the electric vehicle.

Pixel LED tail lights at the back offer subtle yet premium appeal. This Ioniq EV model is introduced in three colors including Gravity gold matter, Optic white, and Midnight Black Pearl all of which complement the modern style language.

The Ioniq’s cabin offers a luxurious feel when you step inside. Thanks to the Dark Pebble Gray finish. The dashboard boasts soft-touch materials, and ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, linked car technology, a Bose sound system, and more.

Additionally, the seat upholstery is made of eco-processed leather. All four disc brakes, six airbags, ABS with EBD, an engine parking brake, and other equipment are included in the model’s safety package. There is also a front trunk with a 571-liter boot size.

Hyundai Ioniq 5: Powertrain

The floor-mounted 72.6 kWh battery pack for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV is said to deliver around 631 km range on a single charge. The electric motor generates around 214 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. According to Hyundai, the 350 kW DC charger can fully charge the Ioniq 5 SUV from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS and the Vehicle 2 Load function are also included with the Ioniq 5.

Hyundai Ioniq 5: Safety Features

As part of its list of standard safety equipment, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has six airbags, an electric parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels, a multi-collision avoidance braking system, and a power child lock.
The Ioniq 5 also has Level 2 ADAS functions, which include, to mention a few, features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control.

With the EV9, KIA has outperformed those expectations for everything an EV car should be. It is audacious and means business. This SUV is a proper one with an imposing stance and substantial ground clearance. The car’s front has symmetrical, sharp lines. The front grill, which the company refers to as its “Tiger Face,” has changed for its electric iteration. With the help of some chrome strips, the S-shaped DRLs smooth off the front look.

Its rear proportionally balances its front effectively. The tail lamps are well integrated with the D-pillar of the EV9 design, and it has some solid crease lines. Due to the dual-tone treatment, the rear bumper looks imposing and buff.

The KIA EV9 also has a more intriguing side profile. It is tall, and the quarter panel at the back has a triangle window pane that projects sharply into the roof. The wheel arches receive substantial protection and curiously shaped tyres to match the overall visual aesthetic.

Greaves NXG Electric Scooter: What It Looks Like?

Having a look at the two-wheeler’s design reveals that it looks quite futuristic and modern from all angles. A sharp headlamp unit with integrated DRLs and illuminated ‘AMPERE’ lettering is mounted atop a bulky front profile. The same AMPERE is accentuated on the front panel and has a big set of tyres with alloy wheels. The sleek profile continues at the sides, supported by a premium rear-end finish with squared-off edges and an LED tail lamp.
