Raptee Electric Bike With 150km Range Test Mule Spied- Launch Inching Closer?

Key Highlights

  • 2023 Raptee to come with semi-faired styling
  • It is claimed to have a top speed of up to 135 kmph
  • Raptee will also get a long-distance riding range of up to 150 km per charge

The EV manufacturer Raptee, based in Chennai, is working on an e-bike. This upcoming bike’s design was on display during the 2020 Indian Auto Expo. However, it appears that the pandemic adds to the launch time delay. On a city run, a test model of the 2023 Raptee electric bike was spotted. Under the camouflage, the test bike appears to be prepared for production. Read on for more information.

Raptee Design

The upcoming Raptee e-bike will have a hybrid design. How? Well, it combines the looks of a naked bike design and a fairing. An independent headlight and a tubular handlebar are featured on the front end. But a fairing is added to the battery and electric motor underneath the frame. The Ultraviolette F77 bike’s upcoming design is similar to this one.

The test bike that was spotted also has a little more determined riding posture. The rider triangle has a slightly upright, athletic appearance. The raised handlebars make the bike nimble in city traffic.

Raptee Features

Other design elements to notice are the split seats, glossy alloy wheels, and a chain drive system. This chain drive system differs from the concept model. The concept bike had a belt drive system, but Raptee’s engineers apparently dropped it for the performance.

It will also receive a big touchscreen TFT infotainment display. According to the industry standards, Bluetooth connectivity must be included as well. The test bike also has LED lighting.

Raptee Battery And Motor

Raptee is going to use a big electric motor on it. The battery and motor’s precise specifications are still a mystery. The company’s website now shows the performance metrics. It has a top speed of 135 kmph and a claimed riding range of 150 km on a single charge. It also reportedly has a 0-60 kmph time of 3.5 seconds. Using its CCS2 charging connector, its battery can be charged from 0 percent to 80 percent in 45 minutes.

India’s Cheapest Electric Car Priced at Rs 4.70 lac – Meet the PMV EaS-E

Key Highlights

  • Three versions with range varying from 120 to 200km
  • 6000+ bookings already in place, you can book one too for Rs 2000 only
  • Seats two adults and one kid, 4G enabled

This could be the answer to ever-increasing traffic congestion in metro cities. Meet the PMV EaS-E, the most affordable e-car you can buy in India. We told you about PMV EaS-E a few days back and it is now up for grabs with deliveries starting by May-June 2023. There are three versions on offer and the entry-level with a range of 120km is priced at Rs 4.79 lac. Pricing for the other two models has not been disclosed yet. The company claims they have already received over 6000 orders, both from India and abroad.

Also Read | Apple Electric Car Launch Just Got Delayed To 2026: It’s Not Fully Autonomous!

The PMV EaS-E electric car is the first-of-its-kind vehicle in India and promises to offer a low-cost, viable solution for urban mobility. For those who commute 50-100km on a daily basis and need to beat the traffic, this is the car to go for. It has a top whack of 70 km/h which is more than ample for urban runs. It can also accelerate from 0 to 50 in just 5 seconds. Although specs are not out officially, we understand the electric motor generates about 13 bhp and 50 Nm of torque. The car can, as expected, be charged from a normal 15A power socket too. A full charge will take about 4 hours as per the press release – but this might be from a more powerful charger in our opinion.

This car looks micro but is intelligent and technologically loaded. For instance, it offers remote parking assist, cruise control, regenerative braking, and OTA or over-the-air updates. You can also start the air-con remotely thanks to the mobile application. It is also 4G enabled and gets different riding modes that can be accessed through a dashboard on the driver’s seat.

As far as dimensions are concerned, this micro e-car is 2,915 mm long, 1,157 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall. Just for reference, India’s smallest petrol the Alto 800 is 3445mm long and 1515mm wide. The EaS-E is pretty tall for roominess, just 17mm lower than the Venue compact SUV.

We look forward to driving this soon. Stay tuned!

Verdict: This could be a great fit for those looking at an everyday urban car with low running costs.

Honda, the Japanese automotive giant is widely popular in the two-wheeler segment in India. Not just bikes, Honda has been dominating the automatic scooter segment as well in the country. And with the e-scooter demands spiking up, Honda is now all set to mark its presence across the EV segment with the launch of the Benly e-electric scooter. The Honda Benly e-electric scooter’s test mule already made its sighting a year back sometime in June. Now, a fresh sighting of the Benly e-test model has surfaced.

Honda Benly E-Electric Scooter New Test Mule Spotted Again

The latest Hona Benly e-electric scooter’s latest test model has been spotted by Zigwheels. The test model has made its sighting near the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), Bengaluru. The first Honda Benly e-electric scooter fresh test module sighting hints at its imminent launch. But unlike the previous test mule, this one was spotted in its full glory without any camouflage wrapping. In fact, the Benly e-electric scooter’s latest test model is spotted with a dealership number plate.

More Than A Conventional E-Scooter Design

The Honda Benly e electric scooter isn’t any regular-looking e-scooter. It rather brings a utility-oriented design contrary to what the popular Ola S1 and Ather 450X offer. With the big parcel carrier tucked right above the headlight and a large flat luggage mount, the Honda Benly e-scooter is apparently designed for delivery and cargo riders.

The first Honda e-scooter will offer a compact yet cushioned rider seat for comfortable rides, while the footboard is also designed for better holding capacity with luggage. Upfront, the headlight will be round which along with the round digital instrument cluster and rearview mirrors gives it a retro yet modern look.

Honda Benley E I Electric Scooter Key Features

The Honda Benley e electric scooter has been introduced in international markets in two different variants namely Benly e I and Benly e II. The test model of the first Honda electric scooter for India spotted is said to be the Benley e I.

This electric scooter model is equipped with a 2.8KW electric motor that churns out a peak power of 3.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. With a limited speed of around 30 kmph, the Benley e I is said to offer a 43 km range per charge.

Honda Benley E II Electric Scooter Key Features

On the other hand, the Honda Benly e electric scooter is powered by a slightly bigger 4.2kW electric motor that generates around 5.7 bhp and 15 Nm of peak torque. This variant is touted to offer up to 60 km range with around 60 kmph speed and approx. 87 km per charge range when the speeds are lower at around 30 kmph.

Honda Benley E Electric Scooter Dimensions, Color Option

The Honda Benly e I and II measures 1820 x 720 x 1025 mm in length, width, and height respectively and weigh around 84 kg with battery. The seat height offered by the Benley e electric scooter is 710 mm which is apt for riders with both small and tall height. If we speak of the color option, the Benley e comes in a single white color option.
