Realme GT 2 Pro To Ditch Conventional In-Display Fingerprint Scanner; Know The Latest Tech Used

Realme is experimenting with newer technology series with its upcoming GT 2 smartphone series. The brand has showcased three of the first technologies with which the upcoming flagship series will be equipped. The Master Edition of the GT 2 Pro has also surfaced courtesy of the company itself. Bit one of the most intriguing features would be the in-display fingerprint scanner which will serve more than just device security.

Realme GT 2 Pro In-Display Fingerprint Scanner Integrates This Useful Feature

The Realme GT 2 Pro’s in-display fingerprint scanner won’t be just functioning as a security layer. It will also double up as a health-centric feature. Chase Xu Qi, Realme China’s Chief Officer took to the Chinese microblogging website Weibo to showcase the technology used by the Realme GT 2 Pro’s in-display fingerprint scanner.

The screenshots shared hint at the presence of a Heart Rate Monitor. But that seems to be the impressions of the Heart Rate sensor along with some set of instructions. There is no confirmation via these screenshots that states a Heart Rate monitor embedded within the in-display fingerprint scanner.

However, tipster Digital Chat Station separately tipped the same feature on the upcoming Realme GT 2 Pro. According to the leakster, the Realme GT 2 Pro will not be using a conventional optical fingerprint scanner and would rather use new tech. Nevertheless, Realme is definitely raising the bar with the amount of technology used for the GT 2 series.

If indeed the Realme GT 2 Pro features a Heart Rate Monitor inside the in-display fingerprint scanner, it would be the first for any Android or even Apple iPhone model to date. We are not sure if Realme had a breakthrough in managing this tech and embedding it with the GT 2 Pro. But if this feature goes official, the company will surely grab all the headlines. Also, the GT 2 Pro would probably become one of the most advanced premium-range gaming handsets.

The rumor mill has already detailed all the specifications of the GT 2 Pro. Amongst all the features, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is what most of the leaks have pointed at. You can read our previous coverage to know of all the leaked GT 2 Pro features.

Popular online forums like Reddit and even Google Support forums are what users resort to highlighting this issue with the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. Some users have also shared the images of their respective Pixel 6 units with a cracked screen.

It isn’t the first time this issue has been highlighted by the users. We have come across reports of the Pixel 6 series screen-break issue soon after the official launch. Surprisingly, both standard Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro users are facing this issue. Despite being layered with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, the cracks are appearing from the corner of the display.

Going by the reports, some of the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro users have also suggested that these cracks on the screen have surfaced without any accidental drop scenario. Others have also pointed out that their units were either wrapped inside Google or Spigen cases both of which offer good protection from external damages. Some devices were also wrapped with a screen protector (tempered glass). However, even that didn’t help in such cases.

Google hasn’t yet released any official statement confirming the cause of the Pixel 6 series screen breaking issue. But rumors are rife this is due to a manufacturing defect. Multiple sources have cited the same reason for this new display issue with the Pixel 6 series. But an official confirmation is yet to arrive. We can’t say what will be Google’s plan to fix this issue.

If indeed the reason is a manufacturing defect, the brand might have to recall the sold units. But that’s a long shot and unless there are any announcements from the search giant on the same we would suggest you take all speculations lightly.
