Honda Activa Electric Official India Launch Announced
Honda has been working on the electric variant of the Activa scooter for a while now. There have been several reports indicating that Activa electric is under development, but now the confirmation comes from the company itself. Atsushi Ogata, MD, and CEO of HMSI have put all rumors to rest by announcing the work in progress for the Honda Activa Electric scooter.
According to Ogata, the Honda Activa Electric will be making its debut by March 2024 in the Indian market. However, the exact dates are yet to be announced for the launch of the Activa Electric scooter. It remains to be seen if the brand will launch its highly anticipated electric scooter in the first or later half of 2024. Nevertheless, it’s almost a year’s worth of wait during which we could get information surrounding the powertrain, features, and pricing of the Honda Activa Electric scooter.

Honda Activa Electric Expected Powertrain, Features
Honda has kept all the primary details such as the design and powertrain features of the Activa Electric under wraps as of now. But rumors are rife that it will be based on the Activa 6G platform. The primary difference will be the motor and drivetrain which will be electric in the upcoming Activa Electric scooter.
Furthermore, it is being reported that instead of the powerful performance, Honda will be betting high on reliability with the Activa Electric scooter. Unlike the modern age electric scooters (affordable variants) that offer a top speed of up to 100kmph on a single charge, the Activa Electric will just deliver around 50kmph top speed.
Also, Honda will stick to a fixed battery module instead of a swappable battery setup on the Activa electric scooter. The remaining powertrain figures including the peak power, torque, and riding range are currently a mystery. We might have to wait for a while before the company or the leaks factory reveals some more information on the Activa electric scooter.
We also can expect the Activa Electric to be one of the strongest rivals of the popular e-scooters in the Indian market including the TVS iQube, OLA S1, and Ather 450 electric scooter series.
