Hyundai seems have started working on the rugged variant of the recently launched Inster EV. The compact EV as seen in the test mule images can be seen with the same additional accessories as the high-end Ioniq EV’s rugged model. The add ons primarily include robust bumpers both up fromt and the rear.

The Inster EV rugged version will also feature larger wheels and alloys as per the leaked snaps. The overall approach hints an off-roader capable compact EV that could take on some extreme terrains. There are reports indicating the Inster XRT moniker for this rugged variant. However, we would suggest to wait for the official announcements regarding the same.

We are not sure if the Inster EV’s rugged variant will be launched with a dual battery pack as the standard model or it will be introduced with a just single battery pack option. To recap, the Inster EV has gone official with a 42 kWh abd a 49 kWh battery option.

The base model of the Inster EV with the smaller battery pack produces 96 bhp of peak power, while the higher-spec model offers up to 113 hp of peak power. The former can reach up to 100 kmph top speed, while the latter reaches up to 150 kmph. The range delivered by the Inster EV is up to 355 kmph. But with the rugged version it could differ.
