Hyundai has increased the Ioniq 5 EV’s price by Rs. 10,000 in India. The premium electric SUV will now be available for purchase at Rs. 46,05,000 (ex showrooom) in the country. For reference, it previously was retailing at Rs. 45,95,000 (ex showroom) . Interested buyers gets to select several color options including Midnight Black Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, and Optic White.

The Hyundai Ionoq 5 is a powerful 5-seater electric SUV which uses a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) electric motor which churns out a whopping 160 kW or 217 ps of peak power. The electric motor further produces 350 Nm pf peak torque.

Hyundai has packed the Ioniq 5 with a 72.6 kWh liquid-cooled lithium ion battery which can deliver a claimed ARAI-certified range of up to 631 km on one full charge. The battery takes around 6 hours and 55 minutes for a dull charge with the standard 11 kW AC charger. With the 350 kW DC charger the battery gets a recharge from 0- 80 percent within 18 minutes.

Reason For Price Hike?

We are not sure why Hyundai has suddenly given a price hike to the Ioniq 5. Specifically considering the demand is surging for premium range EVs and the competition is getting stiff. It can’t be said if this new price hike is permanent and whether the company will bring any substantial deals in the future.
