Hyundai has revived its compact crossover electric car Kona. The latest Kona EV is redesigned with new looks and a better range. Besides the design, Hyundai has also optimized the powertrain for improved performance and range. Here are the details:
Revamped Hyundai Kona EV: What’s New
The latest version of Hyundai Kona EV has been redesigned with a sleek finish compared to the previous-gen model’s compact crossover look. The Hyundai Kona EV interiors have also been modified to complement the modern look. More room inside the cabin has been added as a part of redesign.
Additional improvements that the new Kona EV gets over the existing models include i-Pedal one-pedal driving feature and battery pre-conditioning. The latter is said to aid with speed charging and improved range in cold weather.

The new Kona EV also gets a bigger boot space as compared to the existing model. The trunk space now is up to 17 cubic feet or 481 litres (approximately). Hyundai has also integrated a 12.3-inch large touchscreen infotainment combined with an NFC-enabled digital key support feature.
Speaking of the powertrain, the revamped version of Kona EV features a 65.4kWh battery module. The range offered is said to be 304 miles (approx 482 km) per charge. The company claims the latest Kona EV offers over 258 miles better range compared to the current-generation Kona EV. The battery charging time as per the company from 10 to 80 percent is up to 41 minutes.
Hyundai Kona EV New Variant Pricing, Availabilty
Hyundai is yet to announce the pricing of the Kona EV facelift. The avalabililty timeline is also not revealed as of now. As per the reports, Hyundai will be making the rvamped Kona EV available by Q3 of 2023. It is confirmed to sell alongside the existing versions in the US. Unfortunately, it is unknown of this version of Hyundai Kona EV will debut in India. But possibilities of a launch sooner or later in the country can’t be ruled out entirely. That’s considering the expanding EV market in India.
