Infinix has finally forayed in the 5G smartphone space in India. As anticipated, the brand has launched the Zero 5G. The handset has been announced with a mid-range MediaTek Dimensity series chipset. Its other highlight features include a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main lens, a 120Hz display, and a fast-charging supported battery.
Infinix Zero 5G Hardware, Software
The Infinix Zero 5G has been announced with a uni-curved display which is an LTPS IPS panel that measures 6.78-inches. The panel supports an FHD+ screen resolution, 500 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The big display size along with the high-resolution refresh rate makes it suitable for video playback and also gaming.
There is a punch-hole camera cutout that stores the selfie snapper. The camera setup at the back of the Infinix Zero 5G has three snappers. The primary one is a 48MP lens which is combined with a 13MP secondary sensor (ultrawide sensor), and an additional 2MP sensor for depth mapping. The in-display camera cutout packs a 16MP snapper for selfies and video chats.
Under the hood, the accommodates the premium mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. The octa-core processor is clubbed with Mali-G68 GPU to render high-end graphics. The handset also features a hardware-based Heat Pipe Thermal Module 2.0 along with 3D Cooling Master technology to deliver a good gaming performance. This primarily will keep the device’s temperature in check during extensive gaming.
Infinix has launched the Zero 5G in India with a single 8GB LPPDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage configuration. This model comes with a virtual RAM feature wherein it can source an additional 5GB of RAM for smoother multitasking. The unit will ship with Android 11 OS which will be layered with a custom XOS skin.
The connectivity aspects of the Infinix Zero 5G include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. For security, the handset features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. To keep the lights on, the Infinix Zero 5G features a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
