Mahindra XUV 400 Electric SUV Achieves 5 Star Rating In BNCAP Crash Tests

Safety standards while buying a new car has definitely become the primary factor deciding the sales in India. Buyers are now gradually bending towards more safe and reliable ride options for daily and long commutes. Tata and Mahindra are two of the main contenders in the home grown automobile segment both of which have grabbed a stronghold with their tough and rugged SUV lineups. Just recently, Tata electric fleet got awarded 5 star ratings at the BNCAP crash tests. Now, Mahindra has also caught up to the race where its XUV 400 electric proved its mettle in the same BNCAP crash tests. Results are below:

Mahindra XUV 400 Electric SUV: BNCAP Crash Tests Conducted And Scores

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test with adult occupants, the XUV 400 electric bagged 14.38 points and a full score of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. This is impressive for a new-age e-SUV where the collective safety score for adult occupant is 30.38 points of 32.

Coming to the child occupant protection scores, the XUV 400 electric has achieved an impressive 24 out of 24 points on the dynamic safety tests. And in the child restraint test as well, it received full scorers (12 out of 12 points). The collective scores logged by the XUV 400 electric for the child occupants is 43 out of 49 points, whereas the overall assessment scores stand at 7 out of 13 points.

Mahindra XUV 400 Electric has proved itself as one of the India’s safest EV rides by logging 5 Star rating in the BNCAP crash test. The compact electric SUV is safe for both adult and child occupants as per the crash test results.

 Variants Tested

Mahindra XUV 400 electric is currently the only electric SUV in the brand’s portfolio. The variants tested at the BNCAP crash tests were the EC L and the EL LH (O). Both these models are loaded with reliable safety features and have a solid build that helped achieving the 5 star ratings in the crash tests.
