Last month, MG Motors finally unveiled its cheapest and most compact electric car called the MG Comet EV in India. The affordable MG electric car stands against the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3 in the budget electric segment in the country. The MG Comet EV comes in multiple color variants with additional customization options and a starting price label of Rs. 7.78 lakh for the base variant. The MG Comet EV compact electric car pre-bookings have started in the Indian market. Interested buyers can pay a token amount of Rs. 11,000 to pre-register the Comet EV in India. The compact city-drive electric car is launched at a starting price of Rs. 7.78 lakh in the country. Notably, this is an introductory price that is expected to be revised sometime in the future.
The MG Comet EV will be available in three different trims including Comet EV Pace, Comet EV Play, And Comet EV Plush. The mid-range Comet EV Plus will be sold at Rs. 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line Comet EV Plus is announced at Rs. 9.98 lakh in India. Speaking of the color options, the Comet EV comes in Aurora Silver, Candy White, Starry Black, dual-tone Aurora Black, dual-tone Starry Black, and dual-tone Candy White.
MG Motors will also be offering a 3-year or 1.2 lakh kilometer (whichever comes first) warranty on the Comet EV. Additionally, the company has also announced a warranty on battery packs. There is an 8-year or 1.2 lakh kilometer warranty on the Comet EV battery module.
Additionally, there is Road Side Assistance also available for Comet EV owners. Additionally, the company is also offering multiple different package options on the Comet EV that customers can select depending on their requirements.

The compact MG Comet EV’s electric motor produces 42 bhp peak power and 110 Nm peak torque. This budget MG electric car has a 17.3 kWh IP67-certified battery module that delivers around 230 km range per charge cycle. The MG Comet EV has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, and Android Auto, Apple Car Plat connected system.
