Latest FASTag Guidelines: Details You Should Know!
The latest FASTag guideline has been announced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) which makes it mandatory for the FASTag holders to complete their KYC process. It will be now essential for the FASTags that are over 3 years old to have KYC completed for smooth functioning with toll collection going forward.
The new guideline that mandates FASTag KYC for accounts that are three years or above will begin from August 1. A deadline of October this year has been set for the same. This new move comes in effect to help improve the toll payment system at all the toll plazas on the state highways.
It further will help with smoother traffic flow while cutting down on congestions at the toll plazas during peak hours. Besides the KYC, the latest FASTag guideline now also mandates linking the vehicle and chassis number.
Users will now be required to complete this linking process besides the KYC. Also, if a vehicle is new then the registration should be updated within 90 day of its purchase. Linking a valid mobile number is also made mandatory with the new guidelines along with uploading a clear picture of the car’s front and rear registration plate.
