Realme recently launched a new budget smartphone in Vietnam called the Realme 9i. The device marked the debut of the company’s affordable Realme 9 series which is essentially a successor to the Realme 8 lineup launched last year. The Realme 9i is now heading to the Indian market which is now confirmed by the brand itself. The official launch is set for next week as revealed by the official poster.
Realme 9i India Launch Official Poster Reveals Launch Date
The official poster image shared by the company on Twitter confirms January 18 launch date for the Realme 9i in India. The launch event is scheduled to start at 12.30 pm IST. The company will possibly stream the launch event live via its official YouTube India handle and other social media platforms.
Going by the teaser poster, the device seems to bring the same design and hardware aspects as the Vietnamese variant. There is no mention of the pricing on the poster, neither the brand has tipped any numbers yet. However, the Realme 9i is said to retail starting at Rs. 14,499 in the country. This has been tipped by previous leaks and rumors.
Realme 9i Features Expected In India
The Realme 9i features expected in the Indian market are similar to the one launched recently in Vietnam. The device will cater to an affordable audience with its mid-tier hardware. It is debuting as Realme’s first Snapdragon 680 chipset-powered handset. The octa-core mid-range Qualcomm processor will be combined with up to 6GB RAM. It will offer up to 12GB native storage capacity which would be further expandable via a microSD card.
The Realme 9i will arrive with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display in India. The panel will support 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will flaunt a punch-hole cutout that will be housing a 16MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The Realme 9i rear camera module will house a 50MP main snapper, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth lens.
It will have standard 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C connectivity. The Realme 9i will boot on Android 11 OS which will be accompanied by a custom Realme UI 2.0 interface. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner will take care of the security aspects. The upcoming mid-range phone will be using a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
