The Pros
Powerful Performance Delivery
Realme has introduced the C65 as the first 5G-ready handset in the C series. This budget Android phone employs the Dimensity 6300 mid-tier 5G chipset for all operations. MediaTek has used the thin 6nm fabrication for this chipset. Performance has been one of the primary concerns with low-end Android smartphones. However, that hasn’t been the case with the C65.
With its 8GB physical RAM which is combined with up to 8GB of Dynamic RAM, the C65 efficiently takes on extensive multitasking. This means you’ll notice least lags and drops while multitasking and even gaming. We were able to switch between different apps that already were running in the background smoothly. With the added AI engine, expect a performance boost overall.
Benchmark test results of the Realme C65 have been surprisingly good. In the 3D benchmark’s Wildlife Life Stress Test, the handset logged a ‘Best loop score’ of 1,388 points with the stability percentage being 99.4 percent. And in the Antutu benchmark test, it has achieved over 400k score. Besides the general app usage, we had a decent gaming experience with this handset. You can easily install and run graphic-hungry games. The settings and graphics tuned to moderate will definitely provide a smooth and premium gameplay experience.

Multiple Configurations, Dedicated 3-Way SIM Slot
Realme C65 has been launched with multiple RAM and storage options. The base model has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and is the cheapest variant. Then comes the 4GB RAM and 128GB variant and the 6GB RAM+ 128GB model. Both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants are capable of handling multitasking effectively. Thanks to the Dynamic RAM feature which enhances the overall multitasking capabilities.
And the onboard storage space of up 128GB is sufficient for files and documents storage allowing easy access while on-the-go. For additional storage requirements, this phone also has an external microSD card compatibility. The C65 5G features a 3-way SIM slot. This will allow you to use dual nano SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously.

Decent Optics Hardware And Imaging Performance
The Realme C65’s round camera island at the rear is headlined by the 50MP primary lens. It is the Samsung JN1 sensor which has an f/1.8 aperture and an 80° FoV. This main sensor is accompanied by a 2MP lens which captures the depth effects. Now, camera performance generally is average with the entry-level smartphones. But the big primary sensor on the Realme C65 allows comparatively better output overall. The image clarity is to the point. Specifically, the shots captured in broad daylight or well lit areas are all appealing with low background noises. The dynamic range as well as the edge detection is also fairly well captured
The primary camera captures appealing images in daylight with decent dynamic range and a respectable amount of details. The colours appear slightly boosted, and in very bright surroundings, the camera can sometimes overexpose images, which flushes out the shadows.
The portrait mode on the device works well and the resulting images have good skin colour reproduction and a nice bokeh effect. In low light, the details are muted, with inconsistent edge detection, and it could take a few tries to get decent results. Low-light shots also have an observable amount of noise and bloom around light sources. Low light photos are decent; specifically when captured using the dedicated night mode from the camera app.
Selfie snapper used by the Realme C65 5G is an 8MP OmniVision OV08D10 lens which has an f/2.0 aperture. You will find the self-portraits captured with this selfie camera apt for social media platforms. The output looks natural overall. The selfie camera’s quality during video calls is also good with no complaints as such.

Stylish Lightweight Design
The Realme C65 5G borrows its design queues from the recently launch P1 and the Realme 12+ series. The lightweight feather-inspired design does look appealing when combined with the big round all-black camera island. With a thickness of 7.98 mm and 190 grams weight, the C65 5G offers a good grip when held and feels quite light.
The back panel isn’t entirely smudge proof, but Realme has got it covered and ships a soft TPU case that adds protection from fingerprints, scratches, and even drops to some extend. The power and the volume buttons have the usual right-panel placement. The power key now offers a range of functionalities besides simple power off/on. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM card tray and the USB charging slot which again is a standard positioning as majority of the budget Android devices.

The Cons
Vibrant Screen But Standard HD+ Resolution Support
The Realme C65 5G employs a large display panel. The 6.67-inch screen size fits well for video playback. However, the panel only gets an HD+ resolution support of 720 x 1604 pixels. This low refresh rate might be a bummer for a certain group of consumers. But thankfully, the dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz enabling a smooth visual experience as well touch response save the day here. The output overall is clear and vibrant. Brightness levels of 650 nits offers a decent outdoor visibility. You might feel some difficulty reading the content under direct harsh sunlight but that’s not a frequent issue; hence, can be overlooked.

Beefy Battery But Average Charging Speeds
The Realme C65 5G backed with the beefy 5,000 mAh battery has ample power to run throughout a day with almost zero re-plugs. However, it only has 15W fast charging support with which the refuel from 0- 100 percent take slightly over an hour. The slower charging speeds is the amongst those cons which could have been eliminated.

Conclusion
The Realme C65 5G is a versatile budget phone in our opinion. This handset offers a reliable performance with a variety of tasks. The presence of 5G network support is indeed the top highlight when we consider the budget range. But overall, this phone gets our recommendation for being a performance-oriented unit which also offers a decent camera, battery and display hardware.
