After capturing entire telecom market with its 4G services, Reliance Jio is all set to garner major stake in the 5G services. Yes, you read it right as the telecom operator recently announced that it has completed planning of the 5G coverage in the 1,000 cities in India
This development comes after telecom ministry wants telcos to launch or bring 5G services in the second half of this year. It is worth noting that all telecom operators are testing their 5G services; however, Reliance Jio is likely to be the first telco that will bring the same to the customers.
“5G coverage planning has been completed for 1,000 top cities across the country. Jio has been doing trials on advanced use cases across Healthcare and Industrial Automation on its 5G network,” said Reliance Jio.
Besides, it is expected that Reliance Jio will bring 5G services in phases as Department of Telecommunication has mentioned earlier that 5G will be available in 13 cities first.
Notably, the telecom operator is eyeing data driven 5G network, which will depend on the consumption revenue.
