5G In India : Reliance Jio Might Launch Services On Independence Day

(Last Updated On: August 6, 2022)

After emerging number one bidder in the 5G spectrum auction, Reliance Jio is likely to bring its most-awaited services to the country. The telecom operator is expected to bring or launch 5G services on August 15. Notably, Jio is the telecom operator that has purchased spectrum in the 700MHz band.

It is worth noting that Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani recently shared that they will celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with a pan India 5G rollout.

“Jio is committed to offering world-class, affordable 5G and 5G-enabled services. We will provide services, platforms, and solutions that will accelerate India’s digital revolution, especially in crucial sectors like Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and e-Governance” he added.

“Jio is fully ready for 5G rollout in the shortest period because of its nationwide fibre presence, all-IP network with no legacy infrastructure, indigenous 5G stack, and strong global partnerships across the technology ecosystem,” the company added.

Airtel Might Launch 5G Services In August

Apart from Reliance Jio, India’s second-largest telecom operator Airtel is expected to bring 5G services to India in August. This development comes soon after Airtel announced that it has joined hands with Ericsson, Samsung, and Nokia to launch 5G services in a phased manner.

Gopal Vittal, MD, and CEO, of Airtel, said, “Airtel will commence roll out of 5G services in August. Our network agreements are finalized and Airtel will work with the best technology partners from across the world to deliver the full benefits of 5G connectivity to our consumers. “

“India’s transition into a digital economy will be led by telecom and 5G presents a game-changing opportunity to drive the digital transformation of industries, enterprises, and the socio-economic development of India,” he added.
