After launching its 4G smartphone in India, Reliance Jio is likely to bring its 5G smartphone to the country. Notably, the company is planning to bring 5G services along with 5G smartphones next year. This clearly shows that the telecom operator is betting big on 5G services.
In fact, a new report by Android Central claims that Reliance Jio is expected to launch a 5G smartphone. The report also shared the timeline and specifications of the upcoming device.
It is worth noting that the company has not made any official announcement on the 5G smartphones, so we request you to consider this update as a pinch of salt. However, the report suggests that Reliance Jio is likely to bring a 5G device later this year.
Reliance Jio 5G Smartphone: Expected Specifications
The report also shared the timeline and specifications of the new smartphone. The smartphone is likely to have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G chipset, which is again the most affordable chipset for the 5G connectivity.
In addition, the device will have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. However, 5G smartphone is likely to have a microSD card slot and dual SIM slot. Additionally, the phone will be an up-gradation of the JioPhone Next as the JioPhone 5G is likely to have a 6.5-inch display along with HD+ resolution (1600×720).
On the connectivity front, the device might supportN3, N5, N28, N40, and N78 5G bands. In terms of the battery, the device will have a 5,000 mAh battery unit. Also, the device might have an 18W fast charging capacity along with a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone might have 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front camera. This means that the company is using the same camera JioPhone Next specifications in the upcoming smartphone. In terms of the design, the upcoming smartphone will be slimmer than JioPhone Next and will carry a front-facing camera in a hole-punch cutout.
