Samsung has been following its tradition of hosting the Galaxy Unpacked event each year. The company is known for revamping the flagship Galaxy S lineup. This year as well the company has got done with its Galaxy Unpacked 2022 launch event where the South Korean tech giant has revamped the Galaxy S22 series. This time as well, the company has launched three different models namely the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. All three new Galaxy S series phones are packed with top-of-the-line hardware such as a 120Hz AMOLED display, improved cameras with a new Nightography feature, and also S Pen support.
Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ Full Specifications And Features
Starting with the standard Galaxy S22, the handset packs an octa-core chipset that is built on a 4nm fabrication process and is combined with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The latest Galaxy S series phone flaunts a 6.1-inch FHD+ display which is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. It supports 1080p FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The standard Galaxy S22 offers a triple-lens camera setup where the primary sensor is a 50MP dual pixel wide-angle sensor. The main camera offers an f/1.8 aperture. It is combined with a 12MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 10MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and 3X optical zoom.
The handset runs on Android 12 topped with an OneUI interface. It has multiple connectivity options that include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and NFC. The handset features an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and is powered by a 3,700 mAh battery. The fast charging support is still 15W.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S22+, this is the mid-tier model in the latest flagship Galaxy S series uses the same octa-core 4bn chipset as the standard model. It will be available with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage capacity. The display here is bugger at 6.6-inches.
The Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ screen resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. The optics offered by the Galaxy S22+ are identical to the vanilla model. The Galaxy S22+’s rear panel comes equipped with the same 50MP dual pixel wide-angle sensor combined with a 10MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and 3X optical zoom.
This model comes with IP68 certification which makes it water and dust-resistant. The connectivity aspects as the same as the vanilla model so is the security aspect. That means an Android 12-based OneUI interface and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Key Specs
On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 Ultra which is the top-end variant in the new-generation flagship series brings a familiar design language as the Note 20 Ultra with stylus pen support. This makes it the first-ever Galaxy S series phone to offer an S Pen stylus design. The chipset powering the top-end Galaxy S22 series model is also the octa-core 4nm SoC (likely Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or Exynos 2100).
The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display is an upgraded 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The panel supports QHD+ screen resolution and supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s imaging setup is also more powerful compared to the remaining two Galaxy S22 series phones. The rear camera setup here has four sensors instead of three.
The primary lens is a 108MP wide-angle sensor with an f/1.8 aperture paired up with a 12MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 10MP telephoto sensor. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 40MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture. Connectivity aspects here remain the same. The device gets its power via a bigger 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.
