Getting a good night’s sleep is now easier with Samsung’s upgraded ‘Good Sleep’ mode. The features is designed for WindFree air conditioners. It automatically adjusts the temperature to match your sleep stages. Users can pair it with a Galaxy Watch for seamless automation and personalized comfort.

Why Temperature Matters For Sleep
The quality of sleep is heavily influenced by the room’s temperature. Too hot or too cold, and sleep can be interrupted. Samsung’s research highlights that optimal temperatures vary depending on the sleep stage. This is why setting a constant temperature isn’t enough for uninterrupted rest.
How ‘Good Sleep’ Mode Works
Samsung collaborated with Kyunghee University to develop a unique algorithm that tailors air conditioning settings for each stage of sleep:
- Falling Asleep: The air conditioner quickly lowers the temperature within five minutes for a relaxing start.
- Deep Sleep: During the next 90 minutes, the temperature is kept low for deeper sleep.
- NREM Stages: Body temperature drops further in these stages, so the air conditioner raises the temperature slightly to maintain comfort.
- Waking Up: In the final sleep stage, the temperature rises gently, and a soft breeze is introduced to create a refreshing environment.
This cycle repeats throughout the night, adjusting the temperature approximately three times for optimal comfort.
Galaxy Watch Integration
By pairing the air conditioner with a Galaxy Watch, users can enjoy the benefits of the ‘Good Sleep’ mode automatically:
- Automatic Activation: When the Galaxy Watch detects sleep, the air conditioner starts the mode without needing a remote.
- Custom Adjustments: The system adapts to your preferences, whether it’s turning on the AC or adjusting an already running unit.
- Wake-Up Sync: The air conditioner shuts off at the alarm time set on the app.
