Toyota is bringing a new electric SUV to the Indian shores. The brand has just unveiled the Urban Cruiser electric which is expected to be launched soon after the Maruti e Vitara. The Urban Cruiser EV will be based on the same platform as the e Vitara and is also likely to share the same powertrain as well.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Design And Features

Toyota’s upcoming e-SUV, the Urban Curiser EV will be an identical twin to the e Vitara in terms of looks and features. Yet its facia will be one of the differentiating design elements. The Urban Cruiser EV will be coming along with extra body clads compared to the e Vitara and will have 2700 mm wheelbase. It will come with an overall length of 4825 m which is around 10 mm longer than the e Vitara.

The side and rear profile will also be same as the e Vitara. The Urban Cruiser EV will also get hidden rear door handles and will sit on 18-inch and 19-inch wheel size options. The rear profile will include a full-length tail lamp and connected tail light setup. The instrument console and other cabin features will also be identical to the e Vitara.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Powertrain Details

Just like the design, the Cruiser EV will also be sharing the same platform with the e Vitara e-SUV, i.e., the Heartect e-platform. Just to recap, Toyota and Maruti have co-developed this EV platform. The Urban Cruiser EV will be launched with both FWD ( front wheel drive) and AWD (all wheel drive) options. It is expected to be introduced with dual battery pack options. The base variant of the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will be packed with a 49 kWh battery, while the high-spec variant will be loaded with a 61 kWh battery pack.
