Several upcoming Vivo phones (specifically from the “Y” series) have been spotted online at different mobile authentication websites. The latest one to join the bandwagon is the Vivo Y55s which previously got certified via TENAA in China. The smartphone has now been spotted on the China Telecom website. Thanks to the listing, we now have the Y55s’ launch timeline as well as design and specs details.
Vivo Y55s Official Launch Timeline
The Vivo Y55s’ China Telecom listing mentions a December 4 launch. The handset will be initially making its debut in the Chinese market. We might have to wait for its launch in India and other markets until next year. According to the listing, the Vivo Y55s will carry 1,899 Yuan price tag in China. This roughly translates to Rs. 22,300 as per Indian currency.
So, a sub Rs. 25,000 or Rs. 20,000 price label can be expected in the Indian market as well. That’s just our guess, we would suggest you take this information as a grain of salt. That said, the color options listed are Cherry Pink Meteor, Ceramic Black, and Mirror Lake Blue.
Vivo Y55s Specifications Also Leaked Ahead Of Launch
The Vivo Y55s’ leaked spec sheet comprises the affordable Dimensity 700 5G processor. It is said to combine with sole 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option. The smartphone will likely pack an IPS LCD display that will measure 6.58-inches with 1080p FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch.
The front panel might feature an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calling. This is a common setup we see across the budget segment. The rear panel is said to feature two cameras including a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP sensor. The Vivo Y55s will boot on Android 11 OS wrapped around FunTouch OS skin.
The China Telecom lusting has also revealed the connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi-, Bluetooth, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and dual-SIM support. The Vivo Y55s is also said to feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics.
The battery setup listed is a massive 6,000 mAh unit along with Quick charging support. The Vivo Y55s on-papers seem a decent 5G phone for the budget audience. But how well it fairs the competition would only be determined once it goes official.
