This indicates that you can quickly move to the date or year rather than scrolling through all the messages up to the previous year. How To Search Message By Date On WhatsApp On iOS
Step 1: Update the existing WhatsApp app on your iPhone or download the most recent version from the Apple App Store.
Step 2: On your iOS device, launch WhatsApp.
Step 3: Go to the chat window in which you want to search for a message from a specific date.
Step 4: Then, tap on the name of the recipient.
Step 5: Hit the search button available under the recipient’s profile picture.
Step 6: Tap on the calendar icon available in the top-right corner of the search bar.
Step 7: Select the month and year you want to scroll back to in order to search for the message.
Step 8: When you tap Jump to date, WhatsApp will return you the specific messages from the chosen date.
How To Search Message By Date On WhatsApp On Android
The feature is not for an Android phone owner. However, you can note the steps since it is expected to be released for Android phones soon.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your device.
Step 2: Tap on the chat of the person or group you want to search for messages from.
Step 3: In the search bar located at the top of the screen.
Step 4: You can now enter keywords to search directly or search older messages by date, month, and year. To do the latter, tap the calendar button just above the keyboard.
Step 5: Select the date, month, and year.
Step 6: Lastly, tap on Jump to Date.
Note: You can also search for messages by using the “search by date” feature on the WhatsApp web. To do this, simply go to the chat on WhatsApp web and type in the date in the search bar. The results will appear just as they do on the mobile app.
If you want to search for messages from a particular date range, you can type in the date range in the format “dd/mm/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy”. For example, “01/01/2022 to 31/12/2022”. This will show all the messages sent or received within that date range.
